Love-A-Stray pulled this sorry dude last week from the Lorain County Dog Kennel when our Friends of Lorain County Dog Kennel, Inc. reached out for help. Sadly this guy was adopted from the kennel in 2024 and he was a beautiful, happy, bouncy dog. Then, he finds himself back again two years later. He does not look or act the same ;-(. He has a bad skin infection, hair loss and open sores due to flea allergy. His eyes are infected too, NOT neutered or vaccinated and obviously he was not on any flea/tick preventatives. He is also wary of people-hand shy. If you look at the photo from LCDK post in 2024, it's hard to imagine what he has been through. Now he is in our care at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic. He has received 2 medicated baths and will get a third, antibiotics for skin, eye drops and he was neutered today and completely vaccinated. We named him Rookie! FoLCDK is helping with vet costs. If you would like to help too, please mail a check to LAS Rookie, PO Box 125, Avon Lake Oh 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for Venmo, CC, PayPal. Thank you and stay tuned for updates on Rookie.
