Is your pet slowing down, recovering from surgery, or struggling with mobility? 🐾

Rehabilitation therapy can help improve strength, reduce pain, and get them back to doing what they love.

Our rehabilitation team treats pets with conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, spinal and neurological disorders, post-surgical recovery, muscle injuries, obesity-related mobility challenges, and even helps keep canine athletes performing at their best.

We offer personalized care including hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, pain management, gait and balance training, assistive devices, and customized home exercise programs.

Every pet deserves the chance to move comfortably and live their best life. Ask your veterinarian if rehabilitation therapy is right for your furry friend!

Lumps, Bumps, and Skin Changes in Your Pet

Your pet’s health can change in subtle ways, so it’s important to pay attention to their skin and coat. Be on the lookout for:

* New or rapidly growing lumps or bumps
* Firm or fixed masses
* Sores that don’t heal
* Localized hair loss
* Excessive itching, licking, or other unusual behaviors

If you notice any new growth or changes in size, shape, or color, schedule a visit with your primary care veterinarian. If specialty care is needed, our Oncology Team at VCSG is here to support you and your pet every step of the way.

🐾 We Love a Happy Ending Story! 🐾

Meet Roscoe, a 4-year-old Rottweiler who came to our Neurology Service after developing weakness in all four limbs.

Following a thorough neurological examination, our team localized the problem to Roscoe's neck. An MRI revealed significant spinal cord compression caused by a herniated disc between the 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae (C4-C5).

Roscoe was taken to surgery, where our team successfully removed a large amount of herniated disc material to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord.

✨ The good news: Roscoe's prognosis was considered good, with an estimated 80–85% chance of walking comfortably again. At his recent recheck appointment, we're happy to report that he is doing very well!

Stories like Roscoe's remind us why we do what we do. Thank you to his dedicated family for trusting us with his care, and way to go, Roscoe! ❤️🐶

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Amanda Archer, DVM, MS to our Emergency & Critical Care team!

Dr. Archer discovered her passion for emergency medicine during her internship and is dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care when pets need it most.

Outside the hospital, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, exploring local breweries, attending live music, and giving senior hounds loving homes in their golden years. She shares her home with three dogs—Tucker, Buster, and Bruce—and her cat, Juniper.

We're excited to have Dr. Archer on our team—help us give her a warm welcome!
