I am so excited. Does It Have Pockets It Have Pockets will publish 3 of my poems ("Funeral Shoes," "Hobbyhopper," and "Christmas Cake") in December 2025, and then in March 2026 they will generously feature my long poem "It Begins This Way." I am just over the moon both that the editorial team liked my work, and that they shared kind comments.

I never question the value of the arts, but I often question the value of *my* art. Editor Cami & team, thank you!!

Aaaah! In omg news, Jackdaw Press just accepted THREE of my poems ("Considering a Diagnosis at Martin’s Fort Lake," "Ocean Aubade," and "Tragedy Should Be More Dramatic") for Jackdaw Review’s fall issue, #3!!!

In just their last 2 absolutely gorgeous issues, they published incredible work, including poems by Ted Kooser, Molly Fisk, Robert Hass, and Dorianne Laux, among others. Imma die. *keels over*

Eclectica Magazine accepted three of my poems: "As I Take My Blood Pressure Pills, I Remember," "Casting About for Image of Comfort, I Remember," and "A Sonnet for Gifts That Last Long Beyond Their Giving." I am so excited to see these get such a lovely home. I've been a longtime reader and am really proud to get to be a contributor!

Y'all, I am floored. Sheila-Na-Gig online, one of the best literary magazines I've ever had the pleasure of reading for years and years, has accepted my poem "The Friendship of Older Women" (written for and dedicated to my dearest friend, Robin, no less). I could cry with happiness - I never thought I'd be included among literature of this stature.

Amazed and honored that Appalachian Journal, a scholarly quarterly, has accepted my poems "Ankylosing Spondylitis as Hex" and "Contemplating a Six-Pack Yoke"!! I'm so excited to place these pieces in a journal that publishes such amazing creative and scholarly work on an area that's been deeply important to me. (One of the working titles of my new manuscript is A Front Porch in Pikeville because there are so many eastern Kentucky poems in it!)

I spent many years living in Kentucky and Tennessee and had the good fortune to make good friends in Appalachia and even too-briefly married into an Appalachian family who treated me like I was their own. To have my poems included beside scholars and creatives that showcase a region I love is *amazing*

Very happy that my poem "For the Friend Who Died Before We Could Reconcile" has been accepted by ONE ART: a journal of poetry! Kicked my own self in the feels with this one, so for it to have found such a solid home...this one I may cry about.
