Our crew spent the day patching gaps and rolling out new fencing so Ace, Sadie, and Queenie May can stay safe, stay put, and stay with the family who loves them. Super sweet pups, super kind family and a safe yard! That’s a win all around.

Happy Feel Good Friday! 🌞 This week’s warm fuzzy comes from Ellie Mae and Wrangler, two pups who spent 100% of their time tethered outside until our volunteers showed up with a fence and a whole lot of love. Watch what happens when that chain finally comes off. And the good news didn’t stop there. Their mom asked if we had any spare crates, so we put the word out on social media, and our community came through big. Now Ellie Mae and Wrangler have a safe, cozy spot inside too, storms and heat don’t stand a chance. 🐾 Head to our website to learn how you can help! Mark your calendars, Chattanooga! 🗓️

On September 16, our friends at Honey Seed are hosting a give-back night to help us build more fences for dogs who need them most. Stop by for woodfired pizza, happy hour margaritas (seriously, you can't beat them), and more. Bring your animal loving friends and know that your visit is helping fund real, tangible change.

Right now we have about a dozen fences on deck waiting to be built. That's a dozen dogs who could be off the chain, free and safe in their own yard. We can't do it without this community showing up.

Meet Norma Rae 🐾 She’s an HES alum who spent most of her days in a small kennel, waiting for someone to give her room to just be a dog.
Last weekend, our volunteers showed up and gave her exactly that. Panel by panel, they built her a fence — plus a privacy screen so she and the neighbor dog could both feel safe and settled.
Then it was Norma Rae’s turn. She explored every inch, found her own house, and reminded all of us why we do this.
No more chain. No more small kennel. Just room to be a good girl.

Throwback Thursday: the story of Millie and Lucy. 🐾
Meet Millie and Lucy, two certified escape artists.

These girls were adopted years ago from a hoarding case, and their mom knew right away they were happiest outside. The problem? Their old fence just couldn’t keep up with their talent for finding gaps.

A neighbor who feeds a local colony of community cats noticed the pups getting loose and reached out to the Humane Educational Society. HES connected the family with us, because keeping pets with the families who love them is always the goal.

Mom is juggling 3 kids and a full house, and Millie and Lucy now have a secure new fence to call their own. No more escapes. Just room to roam safely, right at home.
This is what ChainFree Chattanooga is all about: judgment-free help, healthier pets, and families who get to stay together. 💛

Meet Scooby, Freedom, and Max! These three were making the best of a tough situation, squeezed into a small kennel and finding every gap they could to dig their way out. Their family loved them deeply but needed help.
That's where our volunteers came in.
In one build day, 10 people showed up and changed everything for this little crew. New fence, new freedom, family stays together.

Meet Bear and Yeti - two huskies waiting for their fenced in yard to play in! We had three volunteers come out in February and fix their fence to ensure these guys have a secure parameter to run around in. From crate confinement to yard goals. 🏡🐕Meet Bailey, Nala, Annabelle, Hoss, and Xena!
This pack of pups lived in a busy, full, multi generational household on a high-traffic road. They spent most of their days inside, in small crates.
Not anymore.
Our volunteers showed up, built a fence, and gave this whole crew (including three McKamey adoptees!) the outdoor life they deserved. The family’s reaction said it all. 💛
Every dog deserves a safe space to just be a dog.

Meet Lyla, Fatty, and Buddy, three sweet dogs who kept finding their way out of an incomplete fence. When HES got involved, we were contacted to help with the fix. A quick fence connect was all it took to give these pups safe, secure freedom and keep them home where they belong. 🐾🧡 This is what community looks like.
