🎓🐾 BIG congratulations to Khai on graduating the AKC STAR Puppy Program!

Khai's journey hasn't been an easy one. He came to us as an owner surrender when no rescue or shelter had available space. What could have been the end of his story became the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

The AKC STAR Puppy Program is more than just a puppy class. STAR stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility. It serves as the foundation for a well-mannered, confident dog and is the first step toward earning the AKC Canine Good Citizen title—one of the most recognized benchmarks of canine behavior and obedience.

For dogs pursuing advanced work such as therapy or service dog training, this foundation is incredibly important. Every reliable sit, every calm interaction, and every positive experience builds the confidence and stability needed for success down the road.

Khai isn't being celebrated simply because he earned a certificate. He's being celebrated because he was given a chance, and he proved what can happen when structure, training, and patience come together.

We couldn't be more proud of this young pup and we're excited to continue his journey toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen program and beyond.

As we head into the holiday weekend, remember to keep pets safely secured indoors, provide comfort during fireworks, and never underestimate the impact loud noises can have on both animals and people.

Properly trained service dogs play an incredible role in helping veterans and individuals with PTSD navigate triggering events and regain a sense of safety and stability during difficult moments like holidays and celebrations.

Dog training is not a “one and done” investment, it’s a lifelong commitment. Just like people, dogs can lose skills over time if training and structure aren’t consistently reinforced. Commands that were once rock solid can slowly fade when rules become inconsistent or practice stops altogether.

Consistency builds confidence, clarity, and reliability for your dog. The more routine and repetition they receive, the more dependable their behavior becomes in real-world situations. That’s why ongoing training, daily reinforcement, and maintaining expectations at home are so important.

Training isn’t just about creating obedience today; it’s about building habits that last for the life of your dog. 🐶

There are moments that stay with you…and this was one of them. 🐾 ❤️

I am beyond humbled to have stood in the presence of so many survivors, to hear their stories, their strength, and their testimony. It’s hard to put into words what that kind of courage feels like when you’re witnessing it firsthand.

The weather may have been heavy, but truthfully… the sky wasn’t the only thing crying that day.

Through it all, our service dogs were there, quietly offering comfort, grounding, and love in the moments it was needed most. Watching those connections happen is something I’ll never take for granted.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to be part of this event and to build meaningful connections with Bridging Hope GA . Days like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. 🖤
