🌻 One week of love can make all the difference. 🌻

Sunflower was found as a tiny neonatal kitten in a Wendy's parking lot on June 12th. Just one week later, he's already growing, getting stronger, and showing off more of his personality every day. 💛

His rescuers quickly fell in love and decided to keep him, giving this little fighter the forever home he deserves.

We're so proud of how far Sunflower has come in just seven days. 🌻🐱

August is Dental Month at Healthy Pets Veterinary Care, and we're making sure our team is ready to provide the best dental care possible for your pets!

Last week, we had the privilege of learning from veterinary dental specialist Ren, who provided hands-on training on the importance of properly maintaining and sharpening dental instruments, as well as utilizing dental radiographs to identify problems hiding beneath the gumline.

From our doctors and technicians to our assistants and reception team, everyone had the opportunity to learn and grow together.

🐾 Meet Ginny! 🐾

This sweet girl came to see Dr. Webb and Giana through Cavalier Rescue of Florida , and we couldn’t be more impressed with the incredible care and dedication they provide to their rescue dogs.

Ginny recently visited us for a comprehensive wellness evaluation, including bloodwork, urinalysis, annual parasite screening, and vaccine titer testing. She is also already under the care of a dermatologist to help address her skin concerns—and just look at her now! She is looking absolutely beautiful. ❤️

A special shoutout to Ginny’s amazing foster mom, who has been doing a wonderful job helping her gain confidence, feel safe, and show off her loving personality. Watching Ginny continue to open up and become her happy, affectionate self has been such a joy.

We are so grateful for rescue organizations like Cavalier Rescue of Florida and dedicated foster families who go above and beyond to give dogs like Ginny the second chance they deserve. Thank you for trusting Dr. Webb and Giana to be part of Ginny’s healthcare journey! 🐶💕

🦷🐾 What's Hiding Beneath the Gumline? 🐾🦷

One of the biggest reasons veterinary dental procedures require anesthesia is so we can safely take full-mouth dental X-rays.

Just like the tip of an iceberg, what we can see above the gumline is only part of the picture. In fact, nearly 60% of a pet's tooth structure lies below the gumline, where problems such as bone loss, tooth root abscesses, fractures, and resorptive lesions can develop without any visible signs.

Without anesthesia, obtaining these diagnostic X-rays would not be possible. Dental radiographs allow us to evaluate the health of the tooth roots and surrounding bone, helping us identify painful dental disease that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Many pets continue eating and acting normal despite significant dental pain, making these X-rays an invaluable part of your pet's oral health care.

🐾🖤 Meet Phoenix: Our Extra-Special Maine C**n! 🖤🐾

Say hello to Phoenix, one of our favorite fluffy visitors! 😍 This gorgeous Maine C**n isn't just known for her stunning looks and impressive ear tufts—she's also polydactyl!

What does that mean? 🤔

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes! 🐾 Instead of the typical 18 toes, these unique felines have additional digits on one or more paws, giving them those adorable "mitten paws" or "thumbs." While it may look unusual, being polydactyl is a harmless genetic trait and doesn't typically affect a cat's health or mobility.

In fact, many people believe those extra toes make cats even better climbers and hunters! 🧗‍♀️🐱

Phoenix certainly wears her extra toes with pride, and we can't get enough of those giant paws and majestic Maine C**n charm. ❤️

This tiny bundle of purrs came in for a visit today and completely stole our hearts. At just four weeks old, kittens are growing fast, learning about the world, and relying on lots of love and care to help them thrive.

Whether they're exploring for the first time, perfecting their pounce, or melting hearts with those big eyes, every kitten deserves a healthy start to life. 🩺❤️

While we'll still be conveniently located in the Polo Club Plaza, we'll soon be moving into a brand-new, larger facility with more room to provide the exceptional care your furry family members deserve.

These renderings offer a sneak peek of our beautiful new lobby and reception area—and we're just getting started! 👀

We'll be sharing monthly construction and renovation updates, behind-the-scenes progress, and more sneak peeks as our dream clinic comes to life.
