Fynn recently got into some corn cobs after a crawfish boil. While it may seem harmless, corn cobs are one of the most common causes of intestinal blockages in dogs because they don't digest and can become lodged in the intestines.

Thankfully, we were able to quickly intervene and get Fynn to Emergency Group , where surgery successfully removed the obstruction.

This happens more often than you might think, so if your pup gets into a corn cob—or any other foreign object—don't wait. Contact your veterinarian right away. Early treatment can make all the difference.

This Fourth of July looked a little different for our Practice Manager, Sydney, and her sweet dachshund, Lou. ❤️🐾

Lou was rushed to Veterinary Emergency Group after being diagnosed with a foreign body obstruction. Thanks to their incredible team, he was taken into surgery that very evening—even on the holiday—and the obstruction was successfully removed.

Lou's recovery was going beautifully until about a week later, when his incision began rejecting the sutures. Our amazing Healthy Pets veterinary team quickly stepped in, removed the problematic suture, and provided the supportive care he needed to continue healing.

We are so grateful to share that Lou is FINALLY fully healed and back to his happy, mischievous self! 🎉

A huge thank you to the entire team at VEG and to our outstanding doctors at Healthy Pets for the compassion, expertise, and exceptional care you provided during such a stressful time. It truly takes a village, and we couldn't be more thankful. ❤️
