MAS Rescue

MAS Rescue MAS Rescue is a small group, we are dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals. We are run by volu The animals hope to hear from you soon.

The Maryland Animal Sanctuary & Rescue Organization (MAS Rescue, Inc.) was founded in 2005 by Mary Snyder to fulfill her dream and passion to save animals from unnecessary euthanasia in over-crowded shelters. MAS Rescue is a small group that is dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals whose time has run out and whose destiny is deemed perilous. An all volunteer organization, we have a passion

ate desire to save as many shelter animals as possible and work tirelessly to provide all the love and care they need. MAS Rescue has rescued and placed over 8500 dogs and cats in loving forever homes. Animals come to us from local shelters, some from distant shelters, while still others are displaced homeless animals found wandering the streets. We rescue, treat and rehabilitate animals through placement in volunteer foster homes for the purpose of eventual adoption into permanent homes that are loving and responsible. They are socialized with children, other animals, and are exposed to everyday family life. We take each animal for a vet check, have them vaccinated, de-wormed etc... If an animal is 22 weeks or more they will always be altered. We require an adoption application, a signed contract and a fee. We will complete regular follow-up, including veterinarian follow-up on your new companion. If you are interested in adopting any of our furry four-legged friends, e-mail us for an adoption application. Please keep in mind: We will not ship animals, but will consider reasonable transport for the perfect home! Thanks for considering adoption from a rescue organization!

🚨 URGENT PLEA — WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

Our shelter is currently at critical capacity. Unfortunately, intake numbers have been extremely high, and we have not been able to keep up with moving animals out through adoptions, foster placements, or rescue transfers. Every day, more homeless pets arrive needing safety, care, and a chance at a future.

We are making an urgent plea to our community to open your hearts and homes to our shelter animals. Adopting, fostering, or rescuing truly saves lives and creates space for the next animal in need. 💙🐾

P.S. The dog pictured has already been adopted and is shown as an example of the incredible variety of animals we care for—including small dogs, large dogs, cats, kittens, turtles, pigs, and more. No matter the species, they all need loving homes.

Even sharing this post makes a difference. Please help us help them. 🐾💙

Calvert County Animal Shelter is officially at capacity for dogs, and we urgently need the help of our rescue partners to make room and save lives. Every kennel is full, and more dogs continue to arrive daily.

We currently have dogs ranging from 5 months to 10 years old, and weighing anywhere from 19 lbs to over 100 lbs. Our population includes everything from purebred to mixed-breed dogs, each one deserving of safety, stability, and a chance at a loving home.

Our team is doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone. We are asking our trusted rescue partners to step in and help us open kennel space so we can continue to provide care for the dogs who need us most.

If you are able to pull even one dog or several, it will make an immediate impact.

📩 Please reach out to us at the shelter if you can help.

Thank you for standing with us and helping give these dogs the second chance they deserve. ❤️🐾

These and many other animals in need are available and can be seen on our website www.calvertcountyanimalshelter.com.

Got broken light strands? Don't toss them in the trash-bring them to Park Hardware instead!

GNG will collect the lights for
recycling at A Better Way Computer Recycling in Glen Burnie.

Drop-off is easy - just let the cashier know what you've got, and leave them at the desk.

Thank you for your help!

Update: They found a foster home!! 😊❤️🐾

This mom and her one week old puppies are stuck in the lobby of a very rural shelter. They are desperate to save her life. The shelter had to euthanize dogs last week for space.

We would love to bring this family into Homeward Trails but we need a foster. Foster mom and puppies is the most rewarding thing ever. We provide all the support and the supplies you need. You just need a warm safe cozy corner of a home or a warm cozy room for the mom to be safe and raise her puppies.

Anyone???? Please??? Email [email protected]

Hi, this is Charlie, he is a mixed breed dog, approximately 7 years young (looks to be a Black Lab/Weimaraner mix, maybe?) He was adopted out to a very loving young lady in 2020 by MAS. Unfortunately she has some really difficult health challenges, which lead her to call us for some help in rehoming Charlie.

She has this to say about Charlie: “Charlie is sweet and affectionate, he loves fetch and swimming and is very active and athletic. He's a slim build and very handsome. He's a good running partner with some corrections needed early on. He knows all basic commands and a few extra fun ones. He is extremely food motivated. He loves Children. He stays home by himself with no behavioral problems and rides well in the car. He loves toys, but shreds them to pieces quickly, even the really tough ones. He's quirky and very lovable with the right handler.”

Charlie is strong, cannot be housed with small animals or cats. Although Charlie is about 7 years, he is still very vibrant, lots of energy, and playful! If you are interested in meeting Charlie, please email a request for an adoption application to [email protected]. Please share… ♥️🐾♥️
