MAS Rescue

MAS Rescue MAS Rescue is a small group, we are dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals. We are run by volu The animals hope to hear from you soon.

The Maryland Animal Sanctuary & Rescue Organization (MAS Rescue, Inc.) was founded in 2005 by Mary Snyder to fulfill her dream and passion to save animals from unnecessary euthanasia in over-crowded shelters. MAS Rescue is a small group that is dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals whose time has run out and whose destiny is deemed perilous. An all volunteer organization, we have a passion

ate desire to save as many shelter animals as possible and work tirelessly to provide all the love and care they need. MAS Rescue has rescued and placed over 8500 dogs and cats in loving forever homes. Animals come to us from local shelters, some from distant shelters, while still others are displaced homeless animals found wandering the streets. We rescue, treat and rehabilitate animals through placement in volunteer foster homes for the purpose of eventual adoption into permanent homes that are loving and responsible. They are socialized with children, other animals, and are exposed to everyday family life. We take each animal for a vet check, have them vaccinated, de-wormed etc... If an animal is 22 weeks or more they will always be altered. We require an adoption application, a signed contract and a fee. We will complete regular follow-up, including veterinarian follow-up on your new companion. If you are interested in adopting any of our furry four-legged friends, e-mail us for an adoption application. Please keep in mind: We will not ship animals, but will consider reasonable transport for the perfect home! Thanks for considering adoption from a rescue organization!

Dog Days of Summer!! Speaking of Summer… this Gorgeous girl is ready for a family of her own!! She would love grand adventures, with a little work on her confidence. She is fantastic with people, and meeting other dogs, but likely best as a one dog home, or partnered with a large confident male dog, she likes to be an alpha. 🙄 Summer is so fun, smart, and sweet. About 35 to 40 lbs, she is the perfect size. She has a waggy nub of a tail… so you won’t loose any drinks off the cocktail tables! Haha. She is crate trained and house trained. Would love a large yard, or a small one with long walks! 😉 No cats, and no tiny humans. (She’s part Aussie, so the herding…you know!) email me for an application: [email protected]. Please Share!

Meet Winston, a five year old male Golden Retriever-Poodle mix looking for a safe place to call home! He is happy, friendly, and easy going. He knows SIT, PAW, DOWN, and goes potty outdoors, keeps his crate clean. He would love an active owner who likes to go on walks, hikes, or just a fun game in the yard! He can easily be an only dog, although he is appropriate with other friendly, large dogs. It is recommended he not live with small breed dogs, or cats. Please keep in mind, his breed requires grooming often, he has a curly white coat with apricot patches. Winston walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and travels well in the car. Look at those sad golden eyes! If you are interested in adoption. Please email [email protected] to request an application. If you are able to help support Winston’s neuter, microchip, and other vet care… email me for Venmo, Cash App. Or PayPal. Feel free to share this post… Winston thanks you!

⛔️ Shelter is CLOSED Sunday & Monday

Prospective fosters, please apply to the following rescue partners to become a foster and save a life:

The dogs at the shelter labeled “terrier mix” are not adoptable in the county in which they’re housed in due to breed-specific legislation that prevents residents from owning a “pitbull” or “pitbull mix” since 1997. It’s little wonder the shelter is overcrowded and that good dogs die every week. Write your local official and request a new animal control code that is breed-neutral and helps keep pets and families together, ending the stray dog crisis in our community and ensuring safer outcomes. ‼️We are not the animal shelter, and we are not an animal rescue. We are an advocacy organization working hard to support keep pets and their families together in Prince George’s County, MD. For more information or to get involved please visit our website at PetUnityProject.org‼️
