❤️ Never Forget…..

Today, on Memorial Day, as we pause to honor and remember the courageous animals who have stood beside our military heroes we’d like to share this powerful poem in tribute to their loyalty and sacrifice:

"Trust in me, my friend, for I am your comrade.
I will protect you with my last breath.
When all others have left you and the loneliness of the night closes in,
I will be at your side.
Together we will conquer all obstacles,
and search out those who might wish harm to others."

Baron is still waiting… and it’s breaking our hearts 💔

This gentle giant has been at the shelter since January — and now it’s May. That’s four long months of hoping someone will see the sweet, calm soul behind his big frame.

Baron is affectionate, easygoing, and kind. He’s the definition of a couch buddy and just wants a soft place to land and someone to love him.

If you’ve got room in your home (and your heart) for a big, lovable dog who wants nothing more than to be your best friend — Baron is your guy.

Delilah is shutting down in the shelter. 💔 She needs someone extraordinary.

Update: We’ve now identified Delilah’s previous owner—and we finally understand why she looks so lost.

Delilah is six years old and spent her entire life in one home… until she was abandoned here. She lived with two cats and had a life she knew—now she’s alone, scared, and completely shut down. She doesn’t take treats. She won’t engage. She just curls up and waits, unsure of what’s happening or why.

She is not aggressive—only afraid. Underneath the fear is a gentle, sensitive soul who’s desperate for comfort and safety. What Delilah needs now isn’t just a home. She needs a rescue, an experienced adopter, or someone with the time and compassion to help her heal.

She needs quiet. Patience. And someone who sees her for the dog she could be—not just the trauma she carries.

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t turn away from the hard cases… who believes scared dogs deserve a second chance… Delilah is waiting.

🐾 Meet Skippy! 🐾

Skippy is a 4–5-year-old tri-color Beagle with a heart full of love and charm! 🐶💕 He’s housebroken, neutered, dog-friendly, and incredibly affectionate. Skippy loves leaning in for pets and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. 🥰

This sweet boy is ready to be your loyal companion—he just needs a cozy home and a family to love.

🆘 Meet Foxie 🆘
This sweet brindle mama arrived at our shelter on May 16—clearly having very recently had puppies. We don’t know what happened to them, but it’s clear she’s heartbroken and has been through far too much.

Underweight, exhausted, and grieving, Foxie still leans in for love. Despite her suffering, she remains incredibly gentle, affectionate, and remarkably calm. She hasn’t given up on people—and we’re not giving up on her. 🧡

Foxie would thrive in a chill, low-key environment where she can rest, heal, and be surrounded by love. She’s shown signs of being dog-friendly but isn’t yet strong enough for a full introduction.

Foxie isn’t just another shelter dog. She’s a survivor who deserves a second chance. Maybe even the best chance—with you.

UPDATE: We made it through today – but just barely.

Thanks to the incredible support of a few compassionate adopters and the help of a dedicated rescue group, we were able to eek by today without losing anyone. Their kindness gave us a little breathing room—and we are so grateful.

That said, we are still completely full. In order to keep avoiding heartbreaking outcomes, we urgently need your help.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time. We’ll have limited appointments available tomorrow from 11–1 PM.

✨ Silver is her softer shadow—shy at first but incredibly loving once she feels safe.
