This month we’re celebrating Allie’s 9-year anniversary with us at Spicewood Springs! Since 2016, she’s brought skill, dedication, and heart to everything she does.

🐾 Allie has a special place in her heart for geriatric pets, and she thrives when she’s doing intense dental cleanings, surgery/anesthesia, and diving into fun cytology cases.

🌟 Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor adventures, art, and travel — especially visits home to Maine or discovering new destinations. 🌏☀️🌴

Fancy Feature: Maine C**n Cats 🐾

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Maine C**ns, one of the largest domestic cat breeds.

Meet Ash — a perfect example of this gentle giant. 🐈‍⬛

Maine C**ns can weigh between 10 to 25 pounds and have long, thick fur that helps keep them warm and dry.
⠀
They have tufted ears and bushy tails that add to their majestic look.
⠀
Known for their friendly and social nature, Maine C**ns are known to be great with kids and other pets.
⠀
They’re also very intelligent and love interactive play, making them easier to train.

Big, fluffy, and full of personality — that’s Ash and the Maine C**ns we love.

🐾 Andrew Lloyd Webpurr 🐾
This kitty came in for X-rays — and he could not have been a more purr-fect patient 🐈‍⬛

✨ Backstory:
His human noticed that during play, Andrew starts panting pretty hard and takes a long time to calm down.
⠀
It’s not super common in cats, so naturally, they wanted to play it safe and get him checked out 💛

⠀
🩺 X-rays were done just to be thorough — and the good news?
Everything looks totally normal!
No concerns, just a dramatic little theater cat who gives 110% during playtime 😻

Such a sweet, well-behaved guy through it all.
We love a responsible cat parent and a cooperative star 💫

𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 🐈‍⬛

Yesterday evening, something incredible happened:

While leaving the hospital, one of our clients spotted a 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 alone on Spicewood Springs Road.

They immediately pulled over and, with the help of several staff members, searched the area for a mama cat or any siblings — because the best shot at survival is always 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Sadly, no mom was found.

But that’s when the real rescue began.

𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲, one of our amazing team members, stepped in.
She brought the kitten home, kept her warm, fed her with 𝗞𝗠𝗥 (𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁), and helped her go to the bathroom (yes, even that’s part of newborn kitten care!).

Today, this tiny fighter is heading to a 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 who will continue the round-the-clock care she needs.

It took a village — and a whole lot of heart — to save just one life.
And we’d do it again in a heartbeat. ❤️

🩵 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, and rescues like this are only just beginning.

🩵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 — because knowledge saves lives.
