Star of Texas Veterinary Hospital

Star of Texas Veterinary Hospital Full service veterinary hospital specializing in integrative care. We treat your pet companion as we would our own.

At Star of Texas Veterinary Hospital, we prefer to use the term ‘companion’ because dogs and cats are no longer considered just pets; they have become a part of our family. The bond between animals and people began centuries ago and has never been stronger than it is today. Our goal is to provide you with the information and resources necessary to keep your companion happy and healthy for as long

as possible. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pet companions; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. We understand the special role your pet companion plays your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet companion’s healthcare. Make an appointment with us today and ensure the best quality care for your loved one.

Today we’re celebrating 17 incredible years with Dr. Christine McCoy 🩺🌟

From graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine to becoming our Medical Director here at Star of Texas, Dr. McCoy has spent nearly two decades changing the lives of pets and the people who love them.

Known for her brilliance, compassion, and dedication to lifelong learning, she truly is one of the smartest people you’ll ever meet (seriously… we’re convinced her brain runs on espresso and veterinary journals).

Dr. McCoy has a special passion for nutrition and believes in using food as medicine whenever possible, alongside traditional veterinary care. She also has a strong interest in metabolic disease in dogs and is deeply committed to building long-term relationships with both patients and clients. Together with one of our longtime clients, she helped create our Angel Fund — a fund dedicated to supporting pet parents in need so that financial barriers never stand in the way of compassionate, life-saving care. 👼🏼🪽

Outside of the hospital, you can usually find her doing yoga or stand-up paddle boarding — basically staying more balanced than the rest of us trying to survive a Monday schedule!

Thank you, Dr. McCoy, for 17 years of leadership, knowledge, kindness, and unwavering care for our community. Star of Texas simply wouldn’t be the same without you 💙

Some of us didn’t enter vet med for the science… we entered because we physically cannot resist talking to animals in a voice that would get us publicly exiled in any other profession. 💅
