With the number 10 on his back it seemed a perfect fit for FIRST FIVE to take out the Group 3 J Swap Sprint at Te Rapa on Saturday.

Given a gun ride by Lynsey Satherley, the Almanzor gelding settled behind midfield before bursting through a gap at the 300m to run away with a dominant victory.

Massive congratulations 🥳 to the McLeod, Rogers and Shand breeders/owners. A wonderful few weeks for the team from their Taupiri base.

An athletic Proisir gelding who was a touch slow away. Sat last and circles the field to win by 2L, relatively easily. A big future in store for this fellow. Ridden also by Lynsey Satherley.

FIRST FIVE (W Pinn) was second by a nose in the Open NHR GROUP 1300 after settling last and flying home.

SWEET ICE ( T Mitchell) earned himself some black type when running third in the TREVOR & CORALLIE EAGLE MEMORIAL 3YO listed race.

🏇🏻 2024/25 SEASON REVIEW 🏇🏻

As the 2024/25 racing season draws to a close, we are delighted with success our stable has achieved.
ELLE McFAB has now won 2 from 3 and was our last runner for the season, taking out the R65 1600m impressively yesterday at Te Rapa. That takes our tally to 11 winners from 52 starts. Striking at a very healthy 4.73 and also close to 50% placings

FIRST FIVE was a standout winning 4 races, 2 seconds and 1 third from just 10 starts. He’s come back from a spell looking bigger and stronger than ever, one we are very excited about.

Clearing maidens stylishly on debut was 2yo SWEET ICE, a very popular win with stable followers and still lightly raced with more in store.

Well related FREEBIRD won at just her third Raceday appearance and one to follow as she heads up in distance while BRANCIFORTI looks to defend her title in the $100k Awapuni synthetic race that she was dominant in winning last august.

FLAMBOYANCE broke maidens at Rotorua as he racked up a string of placings leading to that and TIMETOPLAYTHEGAMElwas a model of consistency in the 3 runs he had for the stable before scoring impressively at Te Rapa in June.
