Less than a month after breaking through in a maiden hurdle at Te Aroha, the Shaun Phelan-trained Hill Of Kings returned to the same track and delivered again, this time in the $60,000 Pakuranga Hunt “Vale Lamu” Hurdle 💪
Ridden patiently by Jay Kozaczek, the son of Time Test travelled wide throughout, and powered home to score by two and three-quarter lengths.
“Shaun knows better than me. He wanted me to keep him very wide and away from the worst part of the track. It couldn’t have gone any better,” jockey Jay Kozaczek said.
