This Red Eared Slider was bought into SPCA Lakes after found wandering through Western Heights. If you are missing a turtle, get in touch with our local SPCA for details.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Friday. 🎉🙏
Only 3 more weeks of Winter, so hang on in there. The fire is glowing at the shop and the fish room is always tropical, come in out of the cold and wet, spend some time checking out the tanks.
We are slowly getting in new products and my dogs are loving the .nz Manuka Wood Chew. I love that it is a New Zealand product and my dog loves that he can chew, chew & chew & no splinters.
The Polypterus Palmas are a great size, 17cm and above, and they are loving the raw prawns, they eat better than I do.😆🍤🍤🍤
There is a large Ornate Bichir, a little shy, pops out though when the food is there.
The Frontosa are beautiful, as are the Electric Blue Acara's, and a stunning Apistogramma MacMasteri pair hanging out for their forever home.

SNIP ‘N’ CHIP IS BACK! 🙌

We are excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in Tauranga, Whakatane, Opotiki, Kawerau, Rotorua, Thames and Coromandel, and other nearby areas.

From 30 July 2025 we are working with local participating veterinary clinics to offer this service to cat owners who are struggling with the cost of desexing and microchipping. Vouchers help those in need get their cat desexed and microchipped for $30.

Bookings are now OPEN! Click the link in the comments to check if vouchers are available in your area and register for your Snip ‘n’ Chip voucher. If you know someone who needs help with the online system, you can help by completing the registration with them.

PLEASE REMEMBER – a limited number of vouchers are available to help those who require financial assistance. Please, only get a voucher if you need one and intend to use it. In the past, we have noticed some vouchers were never used, or bookings were made with vet clinics and never attended. When this happens, it prevents someone else from using the voucher who might really need it.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!For Friday. 💗
Winter is truly here and I'm grateful that I get to work in the aquarium with all that warm water it is warm & cosy.❄

This weekend we have a good selection of fish, new African Cichlids, Palmas, new Plecos, Acaras, Discus and plenty of loaches. The plant tanks are full and the shelves stocked and tidy.🐟🛒🎁🎉

Our Blue Tongues are enjoying the new canned wet foods now available, its been easy supplementing their diets during the colder months.🦎❄️
This wee Red Eared Slider is available for adoption, ask in store for details, we will require details of your setup before we can send her home.🐢💗
This weeks selection of tropical fish is exciting, the Green Phantom is stunning, and the Electric Blue Acara are a great size, active and shimmering. 🐟⚡️
Our SPCA bunnies have settled in well, these bun buns are available for adoption, they are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. A wonderful opportunity for a first bunny.🐰
It is a privilege for us to be able to support our SPCA's in aiding these beautiful bun buns to find their forever families.🙏

Yay for Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We've had some lovely pieces of Mopani wood arrive in store this week.💗
This two toned, textured wood from South Africa will create some stunning aquascapes in your aquariums and even compliment your terrariums.
It is extremely hard and won't rot, and will create some beautiful tannins in your tanks if that is your thing.🍂
You will need to come in and view it to see the colours, shapes and textures.

Mopani has arrived.🎉
This dense two-toned, hard wood from Africa is truly stunning.💗
Great shapes, twisting, and textured, it will add interest to your aquarium or terrarium.
It is durable, sinks qu**ky and will add great tannins for a ''blackwater'' effect, offering a more natural habitat for some of our aquarium fish.🍂🐟
You will need to come in and pick your favourite piece.

Miss Coco is on the look out for someone who has a single guinea pig looking for a mate. She is an older lady, very comfortable with a cuddle and a great eater.

Do you know what we do at Wonderworld Aquarium and Pet Centre?????

We have over 90 tanks of tropical and cold water fish and axolotls. This gives us a great opportunity to offer tropical variety for you.
There are reptiles, Bearded Dragons, Blue Tongue Skinks, Turtles and Frogs, some are seasonal of course, though we have Blue Tongue Skinks available at this time. We have Reptile One, Zoo Med and Arcadia reptile accessories to compliment your reptile of choice.

Our aviary has Budgies, Finches, Canaries, Quail and Bourkes available, and we have all the products to compliment your purchase. Cages, food, welfare and health supplements for our feathered companions.

We also have a boutique grooming service available Monday to Friday. We groom small to medium dogs, bath, blow dry and styled cuts. Also we have a walk in nail cutting service available Monday to Friday. We can do dog, cat, bunny, guinea pig and reptile nails.

Its cold and wet out there so come into the store and take your mind of it.☔️
Last day of our Avi One Special is Saturday, plenty of birds to choose, and all the products needed for their best lives.🐦

The Blue Tongue Skinks are still out and about as well as the Whistling Tree Frogs, though the Bell Frogs have put themselves to bed.🦎🐸
