At Birchwood Vets, we are proud to be an independent, family-run practice that is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for our patients and their owners.

Our purpose-built facilities are designed to ensure pets receive the most appropriate care in the right environment. We have a dedicated Consultation Wing for all veterinary and nursing appointments, alongside a separate Surgical, Diagnostic and Day Patient Wing, which houses our advanced diagnostic equipment, surgical facilities and treatment areas. This allows us to care for sick and hospitalised pets in a calm, clinical environment while maintaining a separate welcoming and stress-free space for routine consultations.

Our experienced team carefully manages any movement between the two wings, taking into account each individual pet’s needs, comfort and wellbeing. This approach enables us to provide the best possible level of care and access to modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.

For pets requiring out-of-hours care, including intensive overnight monitoring and hospital treatment, like many other practices in our local area, our out-of-hours service is provided by our chosen partner; York Emergency Vets, a dedicated 24-hour veterinary hospital staffed by veterinary surgeons and nurses throughout the night. This ensures that critically ill patients receive continuous professional care when they need it most. We also offer a transfer service for pets that require overnight hospital support.

We understand that choosing a veterinary practice is an important decision, and we are always happy to answer questions about how our facilities and services operate. If you would like to know more, please speak to a member of our team, who will be delighted to help.
