⭐🍾 Happy New Year!! 🍾⭐

2025 has been quite a year for Tower, we've gained some wonderful new team members πŸ‘«πŸ‘, many of us have some new furry friends πŸ•πŸ©πŸ‡πŸˆ, there have been promotions ⭐ and new qualifications πŸŽ“ and sadly pets have been lost along the way πŸ˜₯ and people have moved on to new adventures 🧳.

We're so grateful to all the wonderful support our team gets and we're immensely grateful to work in such a rewarding and incredible profession ❀️.

Thinking of all the pets and clients we've met this year there has both been immense joy and immense sadness. We hope that whatever happens in 2026 it brings you peace and hopefully some smiles too πŸ₯°.

Here's to another year, no matter what we will be there for your furry family members β€οΈπŸˆπŸ‡πŸ©πŸ•.

We're sorry to make your skin crawl but...
Let's talk fleas! πŸœπŸ•πŸˆ

We know no one wants to think about them, but if you're a dog or cat owner it's always something to keep in mind πŸˆπŸ•.

πŸ€” Did you know...πŸ€”

🐜 Black specks in your pet's coat or on their bed could be flea dirt πŸ’©and may indicate that there are some little critters roaming around on your pet unseen.

🐜 Fleas can jump over 100 times their own body length 🦘.

🐜 Flea saliva can cause allergic reactions in pets and can lead to redness, itching and even infection if heavily scratched.

🐜 Fleas are a common carrier of tapeworms, πŸͺ± which means if your pet has fleas it's also wise to treat for both as quickly as possible.

🐜 Only adult fleas live on your pet, with around 95% of flea eggs and larvae living in the environment - which includes the home 🏠! Treating the home too is important if there is an infestation.

🐜 Animals with severe flea bites can develop anaemia 🩸and those who are frail or weak may even die as a result.

🐜 Flea treatments come in many forms, from tablets πŸ’Š and spots ons, to injections πŸ’‰and collars. Their ingredients also vary and some may be more effective for your pet than others. For advice on flea treatments speak to your vet or veterinary nurse.

🐜 Often people think their pets don't need to be treated in winter, but if your home is centrally heated their life cycle can still continue, so this is still important ❄️.

The flea here was found on a cat who was recently in for neutering with us. It just popped up to see while we prepared them for surgery, so we thought we'd take a closer look down the microscope πŸ”¬.

Student Veterinary Nurse Laura gave Hudson the five star treatment when she came in for some x-rays the other week, providing her with some physical therapy after her anaesthetic to help aid her movement recovery after being under anaesthesia and aid pain relief of her sore joints πŸ₯°.

Hudson loved the attention and the chance to just chill 😌.

Gorgeous Basil became very popular with our nurse team when he popped in for a dental procedure and ended up with a full pamper session πŸ₯°.

But, can you guess the 3 breeds that have been crossed to make this fabulous chap?? πŸ€”
