Failure to burp leads to excessive gas trapped in the rumen, which must be released to prevent death.
Once deflated, there’s time to investigate and treat the cause (diet / obstruction / position / reduced motility / other)

It’s vital for all newborns to have plenty of colostrum: the thick yellow first milk, rich in immunoglobulins and nutrients 🍼🍼🍼

Small hernias are more likely to trap intestines causing complications, but are easier to fix with simple surgery.

Big hernias allow free movement of the guts but surgical repair is risky.

🐑🐑🐑🐑Over 40 farmers attended our latest meeting: Sheep: What Wormer and When. provided a super spread of food and Paul Uglow from gave a very entertaining presentation. Lots of questions afterwards and plenty of people signed up to Animal Health and Welfare Pathway to claim £574 for anthelmintic testing (access a further £658 at the follow-up within 10 months)
