Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but celebrating veterinary nurses shouldn’t stop on 31st May.
As an RVN, I’m incredibly proud of our profession and proud to see the recognition and respect for veterinary nurses continuing to grow.
The role of a veterinary nurse is so much more than many people realise. Our skills are incredibly diverse, requiring us to be patient advocates, anaesthetists, emergency responders, laboratory technicians, radiographers, educators, counsellors, and compassionate caregivers—often all within the same day.
Behind every patient is a team, and veterinary nurses are at the heart of that team. We combine technical expertise with compassion, critical thinking, communication, and resilience to provide the highest standards of care for our patients and support for their owners.
Thank you to every veterinary nurse who works tirelessly behind the scenes, celebrates the wins, supports clients through difficult moments, and always puts animal welfare first.
Here’s to recognising the value of veterinary nurses not just during Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, but every day of the year.
