***Update! The road is back open today!***

There is a road closure on Free School lane affecting our Halifax branch, you can still access the practice from Heath Road but you cannot come down Free School Lane unfortunately.
We've been advised the road will be back open as normal on 29th July.

Found today Cleckheaton road, Oakenshaw.
Wearing a collar, chipped but unfortunately not registered.

Sadly we had a deceased cat brought in to us on Monday. Found near portobello shops.
He is a neutered male, black and white and wearing a blue flea collar.

We had the pleasure of judging a pet photo competition for the children at Haworth primary school, the lucky winners received a goody bag for themselves and their pets 🥳
The children have also drawn us some pictures of their beloved pets, as you can see they are very talented boys and girls!

Well done to our winners and everyone that took part! We loved seeing all of your brilliant pictures and drawings 😍

Female dog found today at Portobello park in Wakefield. She is microchipped however the details aren't up to date.

On a warm day, the temperature inside a parked car can rise dangerously fast 🌡🚗
‘Not long’ is too long. If you can’t take them with you when you leave the car - leave them safely at home.
Heatstroke is a veterinary emergency.
Symptoms include:
Heavy panting
Excessive salivation
Rapid heart rate
Bright red gums and tongue
Weakness, confusion or collapse
If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, first call 999, then seek veterinary advice urgently.

Yesterday we had a client contact us regarding a suspicious email from an apparent microchip database, we believe this is a scam. Just a reminder to all of our clients to look out for these suspicious emails and do NOT click on any links in the email.

An important message to all of our clients!

You may receive an email from Petchip.network advising that your pet’s microchip registration has expired and you need to pay for it to be updated – PLEASE IGNORE. THIS IS A SCAM. The email comes with a link taking you to a page showing your pet’s name, microchip number, your contact phone number and looks very convincing. PLEASE IGNORE.

There is a list of approved databases on gov.uk: Get your dog or cat microchipped - GOV.UK

Typically you would only pay a fee or first registering your pet or if you contact the company to update your details .

It is important to keep your pet’s microchip contact details up-to-date including if you move address or change phone number/ email address. Please contact your microchip provider direct to update your details.
