Not all heroes wear capes! Meet Kobe, who recently saved a life! 🦸‍♂️

Kobe went above and beyond earlier this year to give some of his blood to save the life of one of our patients. He was a very brave and well-behaved boy and we want to thank him from the bottom of our hearts - treats all round!

Say hello to our Client Services Manager, Zoe. 👋

Zoe has worked in the veterinary industry for more than 15 years and has been at Paragon since 2020. She has continuously impressed us with her determination and skill and was appointed as our Client Services Manager in 2024.

We are lucky to have Zoe, leading and developing her teams and looking after all things to make our client journey as smooth as possible.

When not at work, Zoe enjoys walking Rory the Rottweiler, going to the gym and meeting friends for coffee.

What wonderful, kind words shared by Xander’s owner. Thank you to everyone who leaves us reviews. By sharing experiences with our team we can continue to learn and provide the very best care.

"All staff are extremely welcoming, thorough and caring. My pet's surgeon was also the same, offering my pet his surgery the day after his consultation and contacting me immediately after the surgery. The ICU team were fabulous at taking care of my pet after surgery. Keeping him safe, cared for, administering medication, round the clock care on a one-to-one basis is fantastic, it put my mind at ease knowing he wouldn’t be alone. I would recommend Paragon to everyone 100 per cent."

Say hello to our Stock Controller Kristine, one of our unsung heroes at Paragon.

She has a wealth of knowledge in inventory management and maintains our stock levels, ensuring we have the best products to allow our clinical teams to look after your pet.

She is also sustainability savvy by keeping our wastage to the minimum and if that wasn't enough, she also steps in and supports our dispensary teams.

Well done, Kristine, and thank you for everything you do for us!

This handsome chap came to our hospital needing surgery to correct a heart defect he had from birth.

Poor Waffle had PDA surgery and was able to go home the following day, resting and recuperating with his family.

Waffle may be tiny but he is full of character.

Get well soon, Waffle, from the team here at Paragon.

To celebrate this, we wanted to share that we are officially a Cat Friendly Clinic, accredited by the International Society of Feline Medicine.

We strive to make our hospital as welcoming and stress-free for both pets and owners, and having this accreditation enables both to feel at ease as soon as they walk through our doors.

From separate waiting areas to handling techniques tailored specifically for cats, we love our feline friends and we're proud to hold ourselves to the highest standards of feline care.

Meet one of our fantastic interns Heather. 👋

Heather has joined us for a one-year internship. She brings with her not only a wealth of knowledge from working as a clinician in primary care since 2023 and as a veterinary nurse in the US prior to that, but also brings us plenty of giggles with her fantastic sense of humour.

Our interns are vital in supporting all our teams and caring for our patients within any service at the hospital.

Thank you, Heather, we couldn't do it all without you and our other interns.

Introducing the lovely Ginny, a six-month-old Irish Setter who arrived at Paragon in critical condition after collapsing suddenly at home. Her referring vet, who was so concerned he personally travelled with her, had identified a serious internal issue.

On arrival, our team of Veterinary Specialists quickly diagnosed a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a rare and life-threatening defect causing Ginny’s stomach and spleen to herniate into her chest. She was in shock and struggling to breathe.

Our soft tissue team, led by David Barker, a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery and Davide Malucelli, an ECVS Resident in Small Animal Surgery, performed emergency surgery to reposition the organs, repair the hernia and carry out a gastropexy to reduce future risk.

Thanks to our teams immense skill, rapid teamwork and critical care, Ginny made it through surgery and bounced back just 48 hours later.

We're thrilled to see her back to her happy, energetic self! ❤️

Huge congratulations to our brilliant ophthalmologist Raul Sanchez, who has just been awarded the BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology (BSAVAPGCertSAO)! 👁️

This prestigious qualification is no small feat — it involved years of dedicated study, hands-on testing, a challenging final exam covering all elements of veterinary ophthalmology, and a detailed casebook of clinical cases with expert commentary. 📚

Raul is now one of a select few veterinary ophthalmologists to hold this qualification, and we’re incredibly proud of his commitment to excellence and patient care.

Well done, Raul — your hard work and passion truly shine through! 👏✨
