When you arrive home from a full days work, only to find this grass seed sticking out of your own dog’s eye!! 🫣🤦♀️ With grass seed season clearly in full swing, we thought we’d write a quick post below! Keep an eye out everyone, they are the worst!
‼️Grass seed season‼️
Grass seeds can be a real problem during the summer, they can easily become lodged in your pets coat and from there they can migrate through the skin and basically anywhere they fancy. Most commonly they will cause issues with ears, eyes, noses and feet.
For this reason we recommend always checking between your pets toes after walks, or try to avoid long grass when the seed is starting to shed.
Pets tend to show signs of itching, licking and the area becomes inflamed quickly. If you suspect a grass seed, it’s best to be seen promptly, as migrating seeds can require scans to locate, and surgery to remove them.
