A really good outcome and two new friends made ...
We can share this real story to collaboration, innovation and success with you all. Importantly a good outcome for all involved and were able to celebrate it yesterday when Eric and Max met at the practice, whilst collecting their Flea, Tick and Wormer treatments as part of our Pet Health Plan …
A few months ago we asked for a potential poo 💩donor. The response was amazing. Well… meet Eric, who passed the comprehensive screening testing with flying colours, with his owner Karen.
Similarly, meet Max, who thanks to regular ‘donations’ from Eric, has been turned from a chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease sufferer reliant on long term medication, into a dog enjoying a healthy gut and feeling good about life without the need for drugs to do so, with his owner Keith.
Faecal microbiota transplants take care and planning for, but can change lives for the better. To the best of our knowledge, Estuary Vets are proud to be amongst the first general practices in the country offering this service for our patients, an example of our commitment to evidence-led, welfare-friendly practice.
To complete an accomplished CV, Eric is a Pets As Therapy dog being a regular visitor to the RD&E to boost the morale of patients, Eric clearly does it all for society, and we couldn’t be more proud to be looking after both him and his new friend Max.
Thanks to both owners for allowing us to share Eric and Max’s story. With them, in the sun 😎 are Vet Nurse Rachel and Vet Rob.
