Who remembers this beautiful girl?

I don’t think our nurses will be picking her up for cuddles for much longer. Hasn’t she grown?

As an Independent Private practice, the whole team at Estuary Vets strives to provide our clients and pets with the best service possible. We are supported for the Out of Hours service by our fellow private practice, the Vale Veterinary Group from Cullompton.

Estuary Vets clinical team of Vets and Nurses augment the service at Cullompton by regularly working with our colleagues at the Vale.

Last night, our Vet Rob led the Veterinary care at the Centre as we have explained to our clients. Harriet will be doing the same very soon.

Our clients can be reassured that they will receive consistent care in Out of Hours provision and could see or speak to members of the Estuary Team if seeking Out of Hours assistance.

So here is Rob, early on thursday evening, soon after coming on duty.

As a practice we are very proud to be working with and supporting Hector's House Charity. The amazing work they do for our feline friends is above and beyond🐱❤️

Right now, they’re in need of cat food donations to help cater for the 97 cats and kittens they currently have in their care. All food donated must be sealed and unopened please.

Donations can be dropped off at the practice, any little bit can make a big difference.

Thank you 🐾

The sun came out this afternoon and amongst the walkers passing by, Otto and his owner walked in for their appointment.

Otto was soon on his way, to enjoy a nice stroll home with his owner wearing their Estuary Vets hat.

Exercise for both the owner and pet often helps with mental and physical health and welfare, so we encourage it for all.

It looks like it’s going to be another warm one this weekend, so ensure to keep your pets as cool as possible.

Here are some top tips:

*Walk dogs in the early morning and evening when it’s cooler.
*In warm weather always provide shade and fresh water.
*Both dogs and cats can burn on light-coloured skin or on skin not covered by hair so protect this with a pet safe sun cream.
*Be careful of walking on hot tarmac and beaches which can burn dogs’ feet, check with your palm if you’re worried
*NEVER leave a dog in a car on a hot or even warm day
*Frozen ice treats can help dogs cool down and provide entertainment

Thank you to George for modelling our new Estuary Vets hats 🧢 🐶

Some of the team will be attending Topsham market this Saturday at Matthew’s Hall. Please come and say hi 👋

How lucky are we that we get to work in such a beautiful location!

Here is Tod enjoying a swim 5 minutes from the Practice. Tod is owned by one of our Vets Rob.

Swimming can bring so much joy to so many of our pets but it’s important we are aware of the health risks that can come with this.

Here are a few things to bare in mind before letting our 4 legged friends get their paws wet:

* Try to avoid water with dense build up of blue-green algae, it can produce toxins that are harmful to our pets.

* Avoid throwing sticks - Stick injuries can be very dangerous.

* Leptospirosis - A bacterial disease that we vaccinate against. It can be found in soil and water (slow moving or stagnant) that has been contaminated by the urine of infected animals.

* Rain after hot weather can cause pollutants to be washed into the rivers.
