Three glorious weeks of training camps have come to an end, and what a fantastic few weeks they have been!

A huge thank you to Georgia Selby of Trails for Tails Dog Training for joining me on this adventure. Your support, knowledge and friendship helped make these camps such a success.

Thanks and appreciation by the bucket load must also go to Julia and John Griffiths of Whiterush Gundogs, who made us all feel so welcome, supported and cared for throughout our time with them. Their hospitality, generosity and willingness to share their wonderful facilities helped make the camps the special experience they were.

Congratulations to everyone who attended. It has been an absolute pleasure to spend time with you all, watching both you and your dogs grow in skill, confidence and understanding. You embraced every challenge we threw at you, whether that came in the form of training exercises or the rather interesting weather conditions!

Last but certainly not least, thank you to Billie from Field & Fable Photography for capturing so many wonderful memories for us all to treasure.

As we pack away the dummies and reflect on the last three weeks, we feel incredibly grateful for the people, dogs, friendships and memories made along the way.

Thank you all for being part of it. ❤️

Day 3 in the Great Valley was wild, wet, and windy! 🌧️💨

Did it stop this group from pushing themselves and taking on new challenges? Absolutely not. They dug deep and showed exactly what can be achieved with the right clothing, a strong mindset, and determination. There really is no such thing as bad weather!

The morning focused on tackling barriers, working through gates, negotiating cover, crossing brooks, and making our way up to hunting areas. Then the storm really arrived...

Despite the conditions, they absolutely smashed it! We worked on stops, holding areas, and blinds before finishing with a couple of hours of memory retrieves through cover. The dogs were hunting up the embankment at distances of around 200 yards and did an incredible job.

I’m so proud of every single one of them. It was an epic day, and everyone rose to the challenge. Well done all – you survived brutal weather and kept pushing hard! 💪🏻🐾 thank you To Belting Billie for photography today we can’t wait to see the shots and Julia and John for the amazing ground

Day 1 of Sue’s Retrievers & HPRs Camp, and our final camp of the year, is complete! 💪🏻🔥

Today’s challenges were designed to really test the dogs. We worked on delayed marks, memories over jumps and close to water, followed by blinds across the ditches. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to memories up the embankments, maintaining lines, and building confidence on more challenging terrain.

We finished the day with blinds through the middle of the areas where the memories had previously been placed, encouraging the dogs to stay committed to their lines despite the pull of old retrieves.

There were some fantastic wins throughout the day, plenty of learning opportunities, and some great feedback from handlers. Well done everyone for all your hard work and teamwork today!

Ready for tomorrow’s adventures on Julia’s ground. Roll on Day 2! 🔥💪🏻😀 Connected Canines

While I was away, I received the most wonderful news! 🥹🐾

Simon and Carats headed out for their very first test together, and what a debut it was! Not only did they achieve a Certificate of Merit, but they also went on to win the scurry. 🏆✨

I couldn’t be prouder of them both. The hard work, dedication, and teamwork they’ve put in is really starting to shine through, and this is only the beginning for these two.

Well done, Simon and Carats — you’ve honestly made my day! ❤️☺️🐾

What a day — Day 2 of Spaniel Camp at Julia’s stunning grounds… truly spaniel heaven with woodland and sedge for the dogs to hunt through.

Today we really pushed both dogs and handlers, helping them step outside their comfort zones and show what they’re truly capable of. We worked on things many hadn’t done before, and every single dog rose to the challenge and absolutely loved it.

This morning focused on hunting and steadiness to movement, finishing on a seen retrieve.

In the afternoon we built memory areas with hunting in between, then sent dogs back to areas of confidence while teaching them to smoothly transition from hunting into retrieving in more challenging environments.

So many beautiful training moments today — well done everyone. We had that much fun we completely lost track of time 🤣

Can’t wait for tomorrow!

The chosen one Brian the Messiah. stunning 😍 thank you I can’t wait to share more shots of him 😍
