I want to take a minute to share some words you might need to hear.

Because when most of our industry is telling you you’ve failed or that you’re not doing enough, I’d like to flip that.

Most people I’ve worked with genuinely want to make change in their life and love their dogs. So in my world, shame has no place in training.

If you want to do more for your dog, start looking at them.

It sounds simple, but so often, we overlook what our dog actually needs and we project onto them what makes us feel better.

But here’s the thing:

🙅‍♂️ your dog doesn’t want to be dragged around town on a hot day
🙅‍♂️ your dog probably doesn’t want to sit in an overstimulating, cramped cafe
🙅‍♂️your young puppy doesn’t want to be dragged around tied to a pram

When we actually start looking at body language and learning about our dogs needs, we can a balance that works for everyone. Instead of slowly causing more issues and furthering the disconnect.

I turned 30 this weekend and I had the best time playing Gloomhaven, making vegan chicken wings and spending time with the people (and dogs) I love the most ♥️

It’s a weird feeling because if you’d have asked me when I was 25, I would’ve said turning 30 was my biggest fear. The idea that I was running out of time and that the only value society sees in you is being young.

But over the past few years, my life has changed so much. When I started letting go of societal expectations and started living for what makes me actually happy, my life followed suit. I made amazing friends and have a partner who is genuinely my favourite person on the planet and im so happy to have them in my life.

So turns out 30 isn’t so bad after all 🫶

I will never not be annoyed when these things pop up in my feed. Because how in the year of our lord 2026, are we still seeing the rise of so many archaic methods 😵‍💫

And if you’ve come here to argue in favour of training tools, respectfully, nothing will convince me that it’s ok to use pain or discomfort in any capacity 🫶
