📍Ok here they are 👇
I’ve helped hundreds of Dog Guardians to overcome their dog’s pulling and lunging on leash and these are the most common things that keep people stuck.
1. Stopping and turning when your dog pulls - chances are, this isn’t teaching your dog anything and is just increasing frustration for both of you. Instead we need to learn how to teach your dog TO walk nicely and address any underlying drivers for pulling.
2. Trying random tips or quick fixes - the truth is calm walks start with a plan. The more you jump around with your plan, the more confused your dog is going to get.
3. Dragging your dog away from smells - investigating smells is exactly what your dog needs from a walk. If you want a calm, happy dog as a starting point, they need to get the chance to sniff. Dragging them away is causing more problems than it solves.
4. Leaving the house as soon as the lead goes on - if your dog is hyped up before the walk, they are not going to have the capacity to learn anything on the walk. Instead allocate the first 10 minutes of your walk to a pre-walk routine. You can grab mine for FREE just comment CALM and I’ll pop over my Calm Walk Starter Kit.
