Due to yesterday’s extreme heat, we had to postpone our evening Lead Walking Workshop 🥵🐶

The upside is that to accomodate the reschedule for everyone - it’s created a few extra workshop spaces across the rescheduled sessions if anyone would like to join us!

These workshops are exclusively for CB Dogs Members (and puppy graduates) Ideal for dogs who:
🐾 pull on lead
🐾 become overexcited outdoors
🐾 struggle to slow down and relax on walks
🐾 feel disconnected from you once outside

We focus on realistic, reward-based lead walking skills and helping walks feel calmer and more cooperative for both ends of the lead.

Available sessions:
🐾 Thursday 4th June – 6pm
🐾 Tuesday 9th June – 5pm
🐾 Sunday 14th June – 12.30pm

They're £40 a workshop and include life time access to all the online content too 😊

How are your doggos coping in the heat? 🌞

Poor Harley dog is really struggling 🥺

As an old lady with Cushing’s and dementia, a 30 degree heatwave is really not what she needed.

Right now she’s:
❄️ parked herself in front of a fan
❄️ being regularly spritzed with cool water
❄️ crunching ice cubes like they’re gourmet snacks
❄️ having loads of extra water added to her food (basically soup at this point 😂)

Weather like this can be really hard work for some dogs - especially older dogs, puppies, short-faced breeds and dogs with medical conditions.

A few things we’re recommending to clients at the moment:
☀️ Skip walks altogether if it’s still this hot - most dogs will cope far better with missing a walk than overheating
☀️ Use gardens for quick toilet breaks where possible
☀️ If your dog needs something to “do”, try calm scent games around the house or garden instead
☀️ If you have a young, healthy dog desperate to get out, a trip to an air-conditioned dog friendly shop or garden centre might be a safer option than a walk
☀️ If using the car, cool it down WELL with air conditioning before your dog gets in, and make sure the cool air actually reaches where they are sitting
☀️ Fans can really help some dogs
☀️ A cool flannel wiped over paws, tummy and body can help if needed
☀️ Don’t leave wet towels sitting ON dogs - this can actually trap heat against the body

You do NOT need to exhaust your dog physically to help them settle 🐶

Sometimes 10 minutes of sniffing and problem-solving does more than a long walk.

Scent games can:
✨ build confidence
✨ help busy brains slow down
✨ provide mental enrichment
✨ tire dogs out in a calmer way
✨ give reactive or easily overwhelmed dogs a “job” to focus on

And honestly… most dogs absolutely LOVE it.

Our Two Week Scent Games course starting 31st May at 2.45pm has had a last minute cancellation!

This course only runs a handful of times each year and the spaces booked up within days of opening last month!

Perfect for:
✔ Nervous or busy-brained dogs
✔ Dogs who struggle to switch off
✔ Confidence building
✔ Calm enrichment
✔ Dogs who LOVE to sniff!

Two weeks of fun scent based games and enrichment, with lots of ideas you can continue at home afterwards too.

✨🐾 CB Dogs Clients - I Need YOUR thoughts!!💭✨

After years of clients telling me that the online Foundations content should be available as a standalone resource, I’m finally biting the bullet and looking to offer it (even though I’m kind of terrified!)

So I’m currently working on turning the CB Dogs Foundations online content into a standalone online training library that non CB Dogs clients have a way access the videos, training guides and demos - even if they can’t attend classes with us in person.

The idea is to create an affordable, low pressure way for people to access the kind of calm, real-life training and behaviour guidance of the online content that many of you have already used through classes and membership.

The library would include Lifetime access to:

🐾 Training & Behaviour Talk Through Sessions (all the weekly online sessions from your puppy course)

🐾 Step-by-Step Demo Videos (all the exercise demos)

🐾 Downloadable Handouts (on loads of different training topics)
🐾 Bonus puppy & behaviour content (a few extras like a talk through on dealing with fears, a talk through dog to dog body language etc)

A huge well done to all our April 2026 Puppy Foundations graduates 🐾🎓

✨ Poppy ✨ Dottie ✨ Alba ✨ Kaya ✨ Hennessy ✨ Chip ✨ Mambo ✨ Maverick ✨ Zena ✨ Red ✨ Lottie ✨ Willow ✨ Sandy

These pups (and humans!) have worked so hard over the last few weeks building confidence, learning new skills and navigating all the chaos that comes with raising a puppy 💙

We’ve loved watching all their little personalities grow and seeing the progress each team has made week by week - from confidence building and calmness around distractions to recall, lead walking and learning how to make good choices around the world.

Remember puppyhood isn’t about creating a “perfect dog” - it’s about building strong foundations, good habits and a trusting relationship that will carry you through the teenage months and beyond 🐶

Well done everyone - we’re so proud of you all and can’t wait to see what these gorgeous pups get up to next!

🐾 Last-minute space this Sunday 🐾

For pups under 7 months old who are currently taking part in, or have recently completed, the CB Dogs Puppy Foundations Course only.

Due to a cancellation, we have one space available this Sunday in our Puppy Socialisation Session.

These 30-minute sessions focus on helping puppies learn how to be around other pups in a calm, supported way — not just play, but important real-life skills.

Each session may include a mix of:
• Disengagement skills
• Paired walks
• On-lead greetings
• Off-lead play

What we work on each week is carefully chosen based on the individual pups in the group — not all exercises happen every session, and everything is tailored to the pups present.

📍 Sunday afternoon – East Didsbury Scout Hut
👥 Max 7 pups, minimum 2 trainers
💷 £15 per session when booking 2 (£20 if booked individually)
🌧️ Outdoor sessions (run in most weathers)

Not suitable for dogs showing aggression towards other dogs. If you’re unsure whether your pup would be suitable, just message us and ask.
