The Crate: Not Jail, Just Genius
Think a crate is just a doggy jail? Pfft… not even close! To your pup, a crate can be a cozy bedroom, a safe place to relax, and a tool that sets them up for success in life.
Here’s why crates are a puppy superpower:
Potty training hero 💩 → Dogs don’t like to go where they sleep, so crate time helps them learn where not to go.
Chewing control 🦷 → Saves your shoes, furniture, and sanity while they’re learning what’s chew-approved.
Built-in chill zone 💤 → Helps puppies learn to settle down, even when exciting things are happening around them. Remember puppies should be sleeping 17-20 HOURS per day, yes you heard that right!
Travel ready 🚗 → Vet trips, car rides, and vacations become stress-free because they already love their safe space.
Stops bad habits from taking root 🚫 → When you can’t supervise, crate time keeps your pup from practicing (and reinforcing) behaviours you don’t want—like counter-surfing, barking out of windows or shredding the couch.
The crate isn’t a punishment — it’s a life skill. When introduced the right way, your puppy will happily trot in and snooze away while you get on with your day.
