It's International Cat Day!

We wanted to celebrate our appreciation of these feline friends by showcasing some interesting facts for cats!

1: Cats can be born with a condition called "polydactylism" meaning that they have extra toes!
2: Cats can make up to 100 sounds, whereas dogs can only make around 10.
3: On October 18th 1963, Felicette, known as ‘Astrocat’, was the first and only cat to go to space.

We would love to see how you are celebrating International Cat Day, or even how your furry friends are!

Good afternoon all! Hope you are having a great Friday!

We wanted to highlight that our Vet Cate has been preparing for the Great North Run this year to raise money for St Teresa's Hospice. This charity offers palliative and end of life care and support to people with life-limiting illness, and to their families or carers.
We have attached her Just Giving page for anyone who wants to support her cause, either by sharing the post or donating - every little helps!

Thank you ❤

We're experiencing a very high number of calls this afternoon 📞 We're very sorry for the longer than usual wait time in call queue. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We just wanted to share a nice positive story for our followers...

A kind member of the public brought in an owned pigeon that had supposedly strayed its course. It was obviously a young bird and very wet and cold from the rain and felt a little bit malnourished. 🥶 Our nursing team took him in to encourage fluid and food whilst we contacted the owner. The little pigeon made himself right at home and snuggled down in his makeshift nest with plenty of food scoffed down, RVN Tash was besotted with him and spent a lot of time petting him which he really enjoyed.💕
☎️ We managed to get in touch with the owner, and they were pleased to know he was mostly well! The owner immediately set off and drove for 32 miles to collect him!
He really kindly left a donation for the charities we work with, and the pigeon has now found his way home where he can continue receiving his TLC safe and sound.

It's not always an easy day at the vets, but cases like these are one of the many reasons why we do what we do! ❤️

Good evening!
We're kindly asking if any of our lovely clients would be able to donate any old newspapers again please help us keep our inpatients clean and cosy in their kennels during their stay with us.

Thanks in advance 😊👏 🗞️📰

A special thank you to Alfie for just being the best boy today whilst we had a few unexpected emergencies that required treatment before he could undergo his dental procedure.
Alfie did so well and was calm and settled all day! Our nurses gave him plenty of love whilst he waited to have his dental procedure. We hope he feels a lot better now he is finally rid of those painful decayed teeth!
Wishing you the swiftest recovery little man!

💛The lovely Rosie got herself into a bit of trouble this afternoon which required our nursing team to provide her with a lovely head bandage!

This was applied for overnight pressure on her ear which we hope heals nicely with close monitoring and medication.

We think she looks beautiful 💛
