For Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re shining a spotlight on our AMAZING Auxiliary Nursing Team 🐾

Our auxiliaries play such an important role in the day-to-day care of our patients and the smooth running of the practice. From feeding and exercising patients, preparing equipment, assisting with handling and keeping wards spotless, to offering endless cuddles and reassurance - their support is invaluable.

They work across so many areas of the practice, including the laboratory, consulting rooms, large animal areas, laundry, sterilisation and alongside our hospital and recovery nurses to help ensure every patient receives the very best care.

No two days are ever the same, and their hard work, compassion and dedication never go unnoticed.

A huge thank you to our fantastic auxiliary team: Beth, Lisa, Vicky, Katie, Caroline, Catherine, Emily & Yvonne.👏✨

As part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re celebrating our amazing Student Veterinary Nurses 💙🐾

Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) are at the beginning of their nursing journey, combining hands-on training within our practice alongside college study as they work towards their qualifications.

We’re proud to support five fantastic SVNs Emma, Keira, Lizzie, Andrea & Elise who are all at different stages of their training and development. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for patient care are wonderful to see, and they are an incredibly valued part of our team.
By supporting and training the next generation of veterinary nurses, we’re helping to ensure a bright future for veterinary nursing and exceptional care for our patients for years to come 👏

☀️🐱 Keeping your cat cool in hot weather 🐱☀️

Cats can struggle in the heat but are quite good at finding a cooler space. Here are a few simple ways to help keep them safe and comfortable during warmer weather:

💧 Make sure fresh water is always available and have water bowls and fountains dotted around
🏠 Keep indoors - provide cool, shaded spots to rest
🏠 Provide lots of hiding places in the cooler rooms in the home
🚫 Never leave pets in conservatories, sheds or hot rooms
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke such as panting, drooling, lethargy or vomiting

☀️ Hot weather is here! Please keep your dogs safe…

🐶 Walk early or late
🐶 Keep walks short
🐶 Never leave dogs in cars
🐶 Plenty of shade + fresh water
🐶 Hot pavement = hot paws! If you can’t hold your hand on it for 5 seconds, it’s too hot.

Heat stress can happen fast and can affect ANY dog — especially older pets, flat-faced breeds, and dogs with heart or breathing issues.

🚨 If your dog shows signs of heat stress: move them somewhere cool, use lukewarm water, offer small drinks, and contact your vet urgently.

Stay safe and keep those tails wagging ❤️

We’re delighted to welcome Laura to our fantastic Client Care Team this week! 👋

Animals have always been a huge part of Laura’s life, and she can’t remember a time when cats weren’t at the centre of it! She shares her home with her two rescue cats, Eddie and Murphy, as well as a thriving tropical fish tank.

Outside of work, Laura is a qualified Divemaster and loves scuba diving, swimming, countryside walks (especially if alpacas or llamas are involved! ), and spending time with family and friends over a good board game.

Welcome to the team, Laura - we’re so happy to have you with us! ✨
