Due to staffing levels and to enable us to provide the best care and veterinary service for our Avenue Vets’ patients - we are temporarily closing Avenue Vets on Friday 4th November 2022 at 4.00pm until further notice.

We have teamed up with our sister practice in Redcar- Marske Vets. From 4th November, please contact Marske Vets to book an appointment or to order or collect pre-ordered medication or food - 01642 488777.

A kind member of public has brought this lovely pup to us this morning. She was found running from the beach towards the main road. She does have a chip but is not currently registered under any microchip databases.

Unfortunately a kind member of public has brought in a deceased black cat (female) to our practice. It was found near the kirkleatham lane area. It did have a microchip but not registered to any local practices.

If your pet should need to stay with us, then our Registered Veterinary Nurses will provide care to meet their needs. This could be everything from placing intravenous catheters for medication and fluid therapy to monitoring whilst receiving treatment such as blood pressure, respiration and temperature checks.
With many years of training, experience and ongoing learning and development we are confident our registered veterinary nurses provide the very best care for your pet, and hopefully give you much needed peace of mind.

In many cats with high blood pressure (hypertension), no specific signs will be seen until the condition advances, causing severe damage to organs. The first sign you could notice is progressive or sudden blindness, so it is important to screen cats over the age of 7 at least every year.

❗️Polite notice to all of our clients❗️

Our practice is currently experiencing a high volume of requests for non-urgent appointments. At this moment there is currently limited availability for vaccination boosters, and we would like to ask clients to try to book ahead where possible to avoid disappointment.

At this time there is currently an expected delay for booking vaccination boosters by up to 4 weeks. This is the same for first vaccinations for puppies and kittens.

If you are unsure of when your pet's vaccinations are due, please contact the surgery on 01642 490928 and a member of staff will be happy to assist you in your requests.
