Everyone, meet Arlo.
Arlo is a very special little doggo, he is not only a handsome boy but he is also a hearing assistance dog for his Dad 🩷 Arlo came to spend the day with us last week for Aural Haematoma. He was the best behaved little angel and let us make him all better. We will see you again for your final Post op check next week little one 🐾🩷

heatstroke in dogs, making up an astonishing 74% of cases.
This risk is greater for dogs that are:
Brachycephalic (flat faced)
Overweight
Elderly
Have underlying heart or respiratory conditions...and also young, active dogs whose excitement and activity level can overcome their ability to keep themselves cool ☀�

He's a regular here at Plunketts, even just coming in for social visits for treats and cuddles most of the time. He's definitely become part of the furniture.

On a warm day, the temperature inside a parked car can rise dangerously fast ����.
‘Not longʼ is too long. If you canʼt take them with you when you leave the car - leave them safely at home.
Heatstroke is a veterinary emergency. Symptoms include:
Heavy panting
Excessive salivation
Rapid heart rate
Bright red gums and tongue
Weakness, confusion or collapse
If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, first call 999, then seek veterinary advice urgently.
