BREAKING NEWS FROM OUTSIDE YORKSHIRE MAKERS…

The hole is being filled in.

After what feels like several series of Grand Designs: Pavement Edition, the barriers are finally starting to disappear and normal access to the shop is being restored.

No more obstacle course.
No more navigating around holes.
No more wondering whether you need a hard hat just to pop in for some sweets.

We’re still here, we’re open, and very soon you’ll once again be able to reach us without completing an NVQ in civil engineering.

Come and see us!

We’d love to open today… but unless you fancy a bit of long jump to get through the front door, it’s probably best we don’t.

Due to essential electrical works taking place directly outside the shop, we’re unable to open today.

Apologies for the inconvenience. We’ll be back open as soon as the works allow.

On the plus side, the shop now comes with its own moat.

LET’S FIND BEN A JOINERY APPRENTICESHIP
PLEASE SHARE!

We’re hoping the power of Facebook might be able to help us with this one, so please give it a share.

Ben has worked for us since he was 15 and, truthfully, we don’t really want to lose him.

He’s hard working, reliable, loyal and someone we know we can depend on. But joinery and woodworking are what Ben wants to do long term, and we want to help him take that next step.

Ideally, we’d love to find him a joinery apprenticeship, but Ben is also really keen to get some work experience and learn from people already working in the trade.

So if you’re a local joiner, cabinet maker, furniture maker, carpenter or you do something a little different or exciting within woodworking, and you could offer Ben the chance to spend some time with you, get involved and learn, we’d love to hear from you.

He’s more than happy to offer his time for the right experience.

And if you can’t help directly, please share this post. Somebody you know might be able to open the right door for him.

We’d rather not lose him, but we’d be even happier to see him doing something he genuinely wants to build a future in.

Loads of different colours, scents and styles to choose from, all made here in Yorkshire by small independent makers.

Perfect for a little treat for yourself, or an easy gift when you’re not quite sure what to buy.

Pop in and have a sniff… choosing just one might be the difficult bit.

We’ve been filling the shelves at Yorkshire Makers with more and more old favourites, and everyone seems to have the one they always go for.

MAKER OF THE WEEK | HANNAH FROM HD Designs Yorkshire

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Hannah from HD Designs.

Hannah’s stand is packed with her colourful illustrations, from Yorkshire favourites and local landmarks to wildlife and plenty of designs that will make you smile.

You’ll find her work across greetings cards, coasters, mugs and other little gifts, all created by a Yorkshire maker.

It’s exactly the sort of thing Yorkshire Makers is about. Giving talented local makers a place on the high street and giving you the chance to buy something that’s actually been made and designed locally.

More honey! Richard from Outback Bees has just dropped off some more of his amazing honey! The Summer honey comes from the land around Arthur’s Cafes in Mirfield.

Proper local honey has landed at Yorkshire Makers

We’ve just had a fresh delivery of honey from hives just down the road in Lower Hopton.

You really can’t get much more local than that.

Available in a range of jar sizes, including honeycomb.

Local bees, local beekeepers and now on our shelves in Mirfield.
