Happy Yorkshire Day!

However it wasn't so happy for us in 2014 when we had to say goodnight to our big bear Yoshi (2004-2014)

Yoshi was a long haired Akita who didn't know he was a dog let alone an Akita. He was one of the lads - went to work by day and the pub by night. He was the most beautiful natured dog loved by all that met him.

You will see him immortalised in stone in his resting place in our wall at Thunder Bridge Dogs. He was crafted by local sculptor Melanie Wilks, true to size, who had her workshop next door and saw him every day.

Greatly missed. It still hurts💔

Is your dog holding on to Winter coat that it needs to deshed?
A change in season causes some dogs to shed their coat and dogs that seasonally shed their coat can struggle to shed it as their coats are naturally greasy. This build up causes the fur to grip and not fallout. Your dog may feel clumpy. A deep clean with the right products will ensure that your dog gets rid of this coat and far better in my salon than in your home.

This beautiful girl is regularly groomed every month as her owner loves her to look her best and it is clear from the video that her coat has seasonally changed and she had a lot of undercoat that needed to be groomed out.

She left feeling smooth and silky.

Please take a look at what I am able to provide at Hogg's Dogs grooming services in Mirfield near the Ship Inn.

I am able to facilitate essential grooming services safely during lockdown adhering to Covid safety protocol and use of PPE.

My gated veranda allows clients to drop off and pick up their dogs safely, removing collar and lead, without having to enter my salon.

A big shout out for all my wonderful clients - thank you so much 👏

This morning I woke up not just to the snow but a frozen main pipe at work! I just felt that everything is being thrown against me trying to go forward this year.

But after speaking to my lovely clients and rearranging appointments, I have taken a step back, put it into perspective for what it is and realised how fortunate I am.

It's not a great time for anyone and for many their worst.

I had a lovely time with a gorgeous Sheltie yesterday afternoon - a beautiful girl inside and out.

I will make the most of today and crack on the best I can.

After a welcome break I would like to wish everyone a
HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Unfortunately it is going to be a very difficult start to the year for everyone now we are in lockdown.

Following information on Gov.uk I have decided to remain open for my services as I am confident that I can provide a safe environment for both my clients and myself whilst adhering to PPE requirements.

If you are shielding or concerned about travel I am able to pick up and drop off safely.

My full groom deshed consists of 2x shampoo, conditioner, brush and comb through, coat enhancer, ear/eye clean, nail trim and spritz of perfume.

Especially great for breeds that seasonally deshed their fur such as labradors, retreivers, border collies, spitz breeds.

These are tough times for everyone but moreso when you are trying to build up new business.

So great to have 3 new clients today 😃

The first pair really cracked me up - real characters dishing out lots of kisses 😘

The third lady was 14 years young who came in for deshed of summer coat. She struggled to stand but it wasn't a problem to do most of her groom while she laid down 🥰 Pet dad told me of her younger years being really active - doing the 3 peaks a breeze - aww bless her.

I never under estimate the trust that owners show me when they use my services for their fur babies, especially for the first time - it is very much appreciated. 🙏

I enjoy grooming this lovely little lady everytime.
