Happy FOAL FRIDAY!!
… from the adorable Angel and Nugget.

We’re so pleased that all 3 of the AI mares we have managed with placentitis over the past few months have now foaled healthy foals. Nugget is one of those foals that has survived despite all odds!!

Back pain can be a complex condition to manage!!

A lot of you will be aware of deep muscle back medication as a treatment option for kissing spines

Here Jade can be seen performing mesotherapy, one of our more holistic treatment options for muscular back pain. Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive technique involving injection of small doses of medication with ultra-fine needles in to the skin, used to relax muscles and relieve pain.

⚠️ Equine Flu Cases ⚠️

We’re seeing a significant increase in the number of confirmed cases of Equine Flu in the UK over the past month.

💉 Up-to-date vaccination is the most important method of reducing risk to your horse/pony, especially for those horses that are younger and older, so more vulnerable.

🩺 Good biosecurity and a policy for new arrivals to your yard is very important. We recommend isolation and daily temperature monitoring of any new horses arriving at your yard.

Happy FOAL FRIDAY!!

Vet Jade has been having early morning cuddles (and providing a colostrum top up) to this gorgeous shire c**t born at 1am this morning.

Did you know that unlike most other mammals, foals are born with no immunity passed to the foal in the uterus. For this reason intake of colostrum in the first few hours of life is incredibly important as this is where the foal obtains all of its antibodies.
