🐶 Meet Layla 🐶 a lovely lady who visited us for a health check 🩺 At 7, nearly 8 years young, she is an adorable senior sweetheart 🥰

As our pets age, their needs change. We can help them by regularly assessing their health and lifestyle and making any necessary adjustments to ensure they have a good quality of life. Old age itself is not a disease, and there are many ways we can help pets with age- related conditions to continue to live life to the full.

😺💉 Cat Vaccinations Explained

Vaccines give your cat’s immune system a safe “practice run”, helping it recognise and fight serious diseases without making them ill. Antibodies are created and remembered, ready to act fast if your pet comes across the disease later.

Regular boosters help refresh this protection as immunity naturally decreases over time. 🛡️🐾

Not every toy should be left unattended!

Toys provide fantastic enrichment for our pets, but it's important to remember that not all of them are safe to leave with them unsupervised.

⚠️ Damaged toys can break apart, creating a risk of swallowing small pieces.

⚠️ Rope toys and long strings can become tangled around a pet's neck, potentially causing strangulation.

⚠️ Squeakers, stuffing, strings and loose parts can be accidentally ingested, leading to potential choking or intestinal blockages.

This might sound a bit over the top, but there’s been a few cases in the media recently of cats and dogs unfortunately suffering fatal injuries when left with their toys unsupervised. We just want to give you a few simple checks can help keep play time safe and fun.

Diseases haven’t gone away.

Cat vaccines are carefully designed to help the immune system recognise and fight life‑threatening illnesses safely. Indoor cats aren’t risk‑free, and immunity reduces over time without boosters.

Choosing not to vaccinate can leave cats vulnerable to diseases that are often severe and preventable. Vaccination protects individual cats and the wider cat population.
