Did you know❓❓

Inappetence in rabbits is frequently associated with the formation of dental spurs, which result from improper tooth wear and overgrowth.

Rabbits' teeth grow continuously throughout their lives (about 2–3 mm per week.) In a healthy rabbit, chewing a high-fibre diet (like hay) wears the teeth down evenly but if they’re not chewing enough rough food or their teeth are misaligned, the teeth don’t wear down properly. This causes parts of the tooth to become overgrown, leading to sharp edges or spurs.🐇

A day in the life of superstar patient Max! 🌟

Max joined us last week to have a few small lumps removed. Thanks to regular socialisation visits with nurse Jess to help with his vet anxiety, his surgery day was much calmer- he spent it with a familiar face and had already practised some pre-op routines 🥰

August is 'Itchy pet awareness month!' 🧫

This month focuses on educating owners about recognising the signs of skin issues in their furry companions, as pets often show discomfort through scratching, nibbling, or rubbing, which can be mistaken for behavioural quirks! 🤪

The treatment for itchy skin varies depending on the cause, but we can help pet parents identify triggers and develop appropriate treatment plans.
If your pet is itchy or showing any symptoms described above, contact us and we would be more than happy to help! 📞
