💊 Can you give your pet paracetamol?

It’s a question we get asked a lot… and the answer isn’t always straightforward.

While some medications like paracetamol can be used in certain cases, they should only ever be given under veterinary guidance. The wrong dose — or the wrong medication — can be very dangerous, especially for cats.

🚫 Never give:
• Ibuprofen
• Aspirin
• Or any human medication without speaking to a vet first

If your pet seems in pain, it’s always best to get advice so we can make sure they’re treated safely and comfortably. 💚🐾

🐱💚 We’re a cat-friendly practice at Cheshire Village Vets.

Because we come to you, your cat doesn’t have to travel or sit in a noisy waiting room with barking dogs and unfamiliar smells. Home visits mean less stress and a calmer experience from start to finish. 🏡✨

We strictly follow cat-friendly handling techniques — including never scruffing your cat. Gentle, respectful care is always our priority. We also follow ISFM Cat Friendly guidelines, so your feline family member receives compassionate, respectful treatment every time. 🐾

How you can help before we arrive:
• Use pheromone sprays such as Feliway or Pet Remedy 🌿
• Keep your cat in a room they’re familiar with (but block off small hiding spots!)
• Try to keep noise and household stress to a minimum 🤍
• Have their favourite treats ready 🍗

Small steps can make a big difference in keeping your cat relaxed.
