I couldn't let another heatwave go past without reposting my favourite photo of Rhiann trying to stay cool back in 2022 ! 🤣😂
But jokes aside, this weather is very challenging for us and the dogs. We have a few ways to help keep the rooms as cool as possible, we have covers up over the front of the runs to block the sunshine, there are fans in all of the rooms, and wet towels down on room floors for dogs to lay on if they want to ( or roll on like Yogi 🤭 ) which we re soak regularly.
We also adjust our daily routine, so all of the dogs have a chance to let off some energy in our field early in the morning before it gets too hot - unfortunately that means breakfast is a bit delayed which doesn't amuse any labradors that we may have ! 🤣 and of course, there's paddling pools galore and frozen treats to occupy the mind.
However, I will be very grateful for normal British summer to resume 🥵

At 1pm tomorrow I’ll be locked in a stray dog kennel for a minimum of 16 hours.
