Our sister practice, West Wickham Vets, works closely with the wonderful charity The Stray Cat Club. For the first time ever, they are facing the heartbreaking possibility of having to close their doors due to being overwhelmed with the number of cats and kittens in need of loving homes.

These beautiful four-legged friends urgently need families to give them the care, comfort and companionship they deserve. 🐱💛

🐾🖤🤎 A gorgeous litter of Labrador puppies visited us today for their first vaccinations and microchipping! 🤎🖤🐾

These adorable pups were all super brave and received plenty of fuss and cuddles from our team before heading home. ❤️

🐶 A reminder for anyone looking to buy a puppy: In the UK, it is a legal requirement for puppies to be microchipped before they are sold by a breeder and by the time they are 8 weeks old. The breeder's details should be registered on the microchip first, with ownership then transferred to the new owner after purchase.

Although first vaccinations are not a legal requirement, many responsible breeders will have already started the vaccination course before puppies leave for their forever homes.

Before bringing a puppy home, always ask to see:

✔️ Microchip details
✔️ Vaccination records
✔️ A recent health check history
✔️ Information about the puppy's parents and how they have been raised

This month, at Croydon Vet we're celebrating one of the simplest ways to help keep our beloved pets safe – Microchipping!

Did you know that microchipping has been a legal requirement for dogs since April 2016 and for cats since June 2024, It's a quick, simple procedure that can make a life-changing difference if your pet ever goes missing.

Unlike collars and tags, which can become lost or damaged, a microchip provides a permanent form of identification, giving your pet the best chance of being reunited with you if they stray from home. 🏡🐶🐱

Even if your pet is already microchipped, it's just as important to make sure your contact details are up to date. An out-of-date phone number or address could make it much harder to bring them home safely.

Whether you have an adventurous explorer or a contented homebody, microchipping provides extra peace of mind when the unexpected happens. ❤️

Sadly, today is May’s last day with us as she begins her maternity leave and prepares to welcome her little bundle of joy.

We’d like to thank May for being incredible throughout her pregnancy and for always being such a valued and supportive member of the team. Her positivity, dedication, and kindness will be greatly missed by us all.

Wendy on reception completely fell in love with him, and he enjoyed plenty of cuddles from our Head Nurse, Shanna. He was such a brave boy during his first visit!

Snoopy came in to see us for his dental procedure, and what a transformation! 🦷💙

Just look at the difference a professional scale and polish can make. Removing plaque and tartar not only leaves teeth looking cleaner and brighter, but also helps support better oral health and fresher breath. 🪥✨
