π¨ RED WEATHER WARNING β KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE IN THE HEAT π¨
With temperatures rising, it's important to remember that heatstroke can affect pets very quickly and can become life-threatening.
πΎ Know the warning signs:
β’ Excessive panting
β’ Vomiting
β’ Collapse
β’ Seizures
βοΈ If you suspect heatstroke:

Cool your pet immediately by continuously pouring cold water over them for several minutes.
β Do not use a cold wet towel, as it can trap heat.
βοΈ Contact a vet straight away.
π‘οΈ Help keep your pets cool:
π§ Plenty of fresh water
π§ Ice cubes in water
ποΈ Cooling mats
π Fans
π Frozen dog or cat broth treats
π Dog owners: Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day. If a walk is necessary, go out early in the morning or later in the evening. Remember: if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
