It’s grass seed season! 🌾

We had a lovely dog called Herbie in with us for a short while this morning and whilst he was here, we removed these two grass seeds from his ear.

Herbie was very brave and let us remove both these seeds 🫶

Grass seeds are found in long grass during the summer months and they can be very painful for dogs. They can become lodged in their eyes, ears, paws and in rare cases, under their skin.

We have seen so many grass seeds this summer already! ☀️🐾

We’re sponsoring this gorgeous puppy called Buzz who is a guide dog trainee with Guide Dogs UK 🐾

Buzz is currently with a puppy raiser where he’s being taught many different things including responding to every day cues and problem solving 🐕

The next step in Buzz’s training will be to go to guide dog training school 🫶

Some tips from Dogs Trust on caring for your dog in the warm weather 🐶

Think very carefully before you take your dog on a walk this week. With a rare red heat warning being issued in parts of the UK, hot pavements and high temperatures can quickly put dogs at risk 💔

Hold the back of your hand to the ground for several seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

Walk dogs during the coolest times of the day, such as early morning or late evening. On exceptionally hot days, it may be best to avoid walks altogether and instead focus on enrichment activities and keeping your dog cool and comfortable at home.

We loved seeing Watson for his monthly weigh in last week 🐶😍

Watson is just 8 months old so we see him regularly to check his weight for his flea & worm treatment 🪱

He is gorgeous and it’s always such a pleasure to see him 💜
