As you can imagine, we go through quite a lot of dog and cat food here 🐶🐱

We’re always looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint 🐾 and whilst the empty dog food tins are easy to recycle, a few years ago we started to wonder how we could recycle the empty cat food sachets too.

We decided to start washing out all the empty cat food sachets and every few months, take them to a local supermarket to be recycled ♻️

We’ve now been doing this for 5 years. We use on average at least 7 sachets a day which means we’ve now recycled over 12,000 sachets that would otherwise have gone to landfill 🌍😻

😻 Zolton 😻

This lovely cat was neutered today. He recovered very well from the procedure and was very affectionate and playful whilst he was here ❤️‍🩹

He also has one of the shiniest coats we’ve ever seen 🤩

Zolton is 7 months old and he’s currently being fostered by Croydon Animal Samaritans as he’s looking for a new home 🏡 if you’re interested in adopting him, please contact the charity via their page 🫶

Did you know that dogs have different blood types? 🐶🩸

Just like people, dogs have different blood types and they can either be DEA 1 positive or negative. Negative blood is in very high demand as this type can be given to any dog in an emergency, but it is also rarer with only 30% of dogs having it.

The charity Pet Blood Bank UK needs more dogs who are likely to have the rarer negative blood type to come forward as donors and help them ensure this is always available for dogs who need it 🐩

This little kitten came in to see us today for the second part of her vaccine course 💉

She was very brave and we loved meeting her 🫶

This handsome boy came in to see us yesterday to have his stitches out 🐶

Bear had a couple of lumps removed recently - one on his eyelid and the other on his tail.

He’s recovered very well from his operation ❤️‍🩹 and he was so well behaved when he was here.

We just love seeing him 😍

Last week, we had the gorgeous Norbert in at the practice who was feeling poorly after eating a nerf gun bullet 😿

Norbert had to visit our out of hours vets and had surgery here the following day. He then spent a few days with us whilst we waited for him to pass the bullet, which as you can see from the photo…he did! 🙏

These nerf gun bullets are particularly appealing to both cats and dogs and it can be really serious if they swallow them. There’s also a danger of pets being injured by the bullets so if you have these toys at home, make sure they are always kept and played with away from your pet.

We’re so pleased to say Norbert’s recovering well 🫶 we all fell in love with him here 😻

Pet Blood Bank UK is a charity that helps to save the lives of pets in need. It’s just like the human blood service, but for dogs! 🐶 They run donation sessions across the country where owners bring their much loved dogs to give blood.

Pet Blood Bank needs your help to ensure blood is always available 🙏 They are looking for large, happy, healthy, and confident dogs to come forward as blood donors to help save the lives of other dogs in need. To be a blood donor, your dog should be:

🐶 Between the ages of 1 and 8
🐶 Weigh over 25kg
🐶 Fit and healthy
🐶 Happy, confident, and enjoy meeting new people
