Watson is just 8 months old so we see him regularly to check his weight for his flea & worm treatment 🪱

He is gorgeous and it’s always such a pleasure to see him 💜

✈️ 🐾 NEW EU RULES FOR PET TRAVEL 🐾✈️

If you’re planning on travelling to the EU with your pet, please read this post as new rules have now come into place which affect how GB residents can travel to the EU with their pets:

- GB residents should no longer use EU pet passports to travel into the EU as EU pet passports may now only be issued to people whose main home is in the EU and should not be used by people who have holiday homes in the EU or visit seasonally

- EU pet passports issued to GB residents before 22nd April 2026 may no longer be valid documents for entry to the EU

- To guarantee smooth travel, GB residents should obtain an Animal Health Certificate for their pet if travelling from GB to an EU country

- There are no major changes to pet travel requirements for re-entry into Great Britain

If you’re planning on travelling to the EU with your pet, it’s strongly advised to read the latest guidance in full:

We’re very sad to have to say goodbye to Hettie as she has now left Anne Nelson Vets.

Hettie began working here after graduating from vet school, four and a half years ago and has been an integral part of the team ever since. We’ll miss working with her and we know that many of you will miss seeing her at the practice. We’d like to thank Hettie for all her hard work and for the care she’s given to so many animals throughout her time working here.

We wish her the best of luck in her new role!

The gorgeous Ori was quickly brought in by her owners last week after she’d eaten a toy frog.

Ori had swallowed the toy whole which could have been serious so we gave her an injection to make her sick and she brought the toy back up soon afterwards.

Ori was so well behaved and remained very bright the whole time she was here 🫶

If your pet eats something they shouldn’t, call us straightaway and we’ll let you know if we need to see them.

♻️ We’re so pleased with our new recycling bin here at the practice! ♻️

It’s specifically for empty medicinal blister packs and empty plastic pill bottles that can’t be recycled at home.

Once this bin is full, it will be collected and the whole box recycled, helping reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in landfill 🌱

So whether it’s an empty blister pack from your pets flea treatment or an empty pill bottle for medication they’re on long-term, bring it back here for us to send off for recycling! 💚
