Despite Pringle's ongoing coughing and sickness, his most recent diagnostic tests haven’t been able to tell us what is causing him to be unwell. Our vets now recommend multiple X-rays under sedation to investigate further, and we have been quoted £472.55 for this next step 😱

So far, Pringle’s treatment and investigations have cost us £767.14, and we’re now facing another significant vet bill with further rehoming costs still to come!

As a small independent branch without funding from the national RSPCA, we rely on donations and our 2 charity shops to help us provide the care our cats need. We desperately want to get to the bottom of what is making Pringle so poorly and give him the treatment he needs.

Please welcome Rio, our newest arrival at RSPCA South London!

Rio is a lovely boy around 1–2 years old who was sadly dumped outside a vets. He has had a bit of a wait before coming into our care while we tried to find him a foster space, but he is finally here and settling in with one of our wonderful fosterers 💙

Unfortunately, summer can be a particularly difficult time for us, as many of our fosterers are away on holiday. This means we have fewer foster spaces available for cats who need our help 😭

Could you help us change that? We are always looking for more fosterers to give cats like Rio a safe, loving place to stay while they wait for their forever homes.

We’re so happy to share that Yuri has been successfully adopted, and judging by these lovely photos from his adopter, he’s settling in beautifully! 💙

It’s hard to believe this is the same Yuri we first met. He arrived in a very poor state and needed time, care and plenty of TLC before he was ready to find his forever home. See the last images which was Yuri when he first came into our care 😱

As a small, independent branch, we rely entirely on the support of our charity shops and generous donations to help us rescue, care for and rehome cats like Yuri.

To everyone who has shopped, donated or simply popped in for a chat at our Tooting shop, we want you to hear this from us directly.

After a lot of thought, we have made the difficult decision to close the shop this October. It has been running at a loss for some time, and as a small locally run branch, we simply cannot keep funding that loss without it affecting the animals and the welfare work we exist to do.

Nothing changes yet. We are open as normal right up until closing, and every visit, every purchase and every bag of stock you donate between now and then still funds real local animal welfare work.

Thank you for years of support, there is more to come on this soon.

💙 Every animal deserves love, not cruelty.

Florence was another unowned cat who had clearly spent a long time surviving on the streets.

When she arrived in our care, she had a damaged, sunken eye and a broken canine tooth, both thought to be the result of an old injury or years spent trying to survive without anyone to care for her.

Sadly, this is the reality for many feral cats. Life outdoors can be harsh, especially when growing populations compete for limited food and territory.

Every cat deserves the chance to live free from unnecessary suffering. That's why our Trap, Neuter and Return work is so important in preventing more cats from being born into lives of hardship.

🐾 DOG COMMUNITY EVENT DAY! 🐾

We’ll be joining the Croydon Council Dog Warden at Dog Community Event Day this Saturday!

Our Animal Welfare Officer will be there offering general information and advice on animal welfare, microchipping and our help with vet bills scheme 😊
