Many Tears Equestrian The Equestrian Centre at Many Tears Animal Rescue

After years of admiration and a love of horses Sylvia (who runs the rescue) wanted to do something to help the plight of unwanted and mistreated equines as well as educate children about caring for them. In addition to this we also have a group for adults who are struggling or feeling lonely. Here you can meet like-minded people in a supportive environment to spend some time with horses, grooming

horses, walking ponies, learning about horses and care, getting some fresh air and a well needed break from real life. Those who have attended the courses have found they have overcome things they have struggled with in the past, the children course have built confidence and some of the most amazing, courageous, determined, kind people have attended them and still do on a regular basis. We have resident rescued horses that love attention and in turn teach the public about their needs and minds.

Turnout isn’t optional for horses — it’s a core part of their physical and mental wellbeing.

🟢 Supports joint health, digestion and circulation
🟢 Reduces stress and stable-related behaviours
🟢 Allows natural movement, grazing and social interaction
🟢 Especially important for older horses and those with joint issues or conditions where regular movement is key

At the rescue, turnout is planned around each horse’s individual needs to support comfort, soundness and long-term welfare.

Cookie is in her 20’s so she struggles to regulate her temperature, like many of our other veterans when it rains she gets really cold and shivers.

We are aware of cases of equine influenza in the local area.
We currently have NO cases at the centre, and none of our equines are showing any symptoms.

As a preventative precaution, enhanced biosecurity measures are in place.

❗ All visitors must have permission from yard staff before coming into contact with any horses.
Please do not touch, feed, or enter stables or fields unless authorised.

👕 If you have recently been in contact with any other horses, please consider changing clothes and footwear before visiting.
