++ Warning for dog owners in the area++

We have had a number of pets in the last 2-3 weeks with vomiting and bloody diarrhoea, some of which have been severely unwell needing treatment in hospital.
We know at least one of these pets was in a river before getting sick and there are reports now of E.coli in the water in Llandeilo. I am informed there are now signs up advising not to enter the water but cases may have happened prior to this being known.
As all the pets recovered with supportive care, and we have only just heard about this notice, we have not run any faecal tests on those affected, so cannot comment if it is due to this, but we felt it prudent to warn others to currently avoid allowing your pets to drink and swim in rivers and lakes especially in the Llandeilo area.
With the hot weather we can also see growth of algae in the water which can also make pets unwell- so just take extra care and take a supply of water and bowl with you to keep them cool and hydrated.

Every day, I have the privilege of working with some incredible rescue dogs, and they remind me just how amazing a second chance can be. 🐾❤️

Many of the dogs I walk have come from difficult backgrounds, yet with patience, care, and love, they’ve become loyal, happy companions. They prove that a dog’s past doesn’t define its future.

Sadly, rescue centres across the UK are at capacity, with more dogs arriving every day than they can rehome. If you’re thinking about adding a dog to your family, please consider adopting.

Rescue dogs have just as much love to give—they’re simply waiting for someone to give them that chance.

Let’s help give more dogs the happy life they deserve. 🐶❤️
