Eye Veterinary Clinic

Eye Veterinary Clinic Eye Veterinary Clinic is a dedicated veterinary ophthalmology referral practice.

In all cases referrals are made through a clients home practice with previous history of the eye problem being sent to us prior to the consultation. A full eye examination is carried out with other tests where relevant, and a report sent to an owner's veterinary surgeon. This is done by e mail form so that it can be immediately added to the home practice's records. We run consultations by appointm

ent at the clinic in Marlbrook throughout the week, as well as weekly outclinic consultations at the following practices:
St George's Veterinary Clinic ~ Wolverhampton
YourVets ~ Wythall Birmingham
Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital ~ Chipping Norton
Feldon Vets ~ Kenilworth
Churchdown Vets ~ Churchdown Glos
Valley Veterinary Group ~ Cardiff
Maes Glas Veterinary Clinic ~ Bridgend
St James Vet Group ~ Penllegaer Swansea
All appointments including for outclinic are made through our main clinic at Marlbrook.

Meet Fennel! Fennel is a one and a half year old Labrador who unfortunately got her eye caught on a hook during a recent fishing trip. It certainly isn't often that one catches a Labrador when fishing on the Wye River! Fennel was referred immediately to the Eye Veterinary Clinic for urgent care and underwent a general anaesthetic to safely remove the hook and her cornea was surgically repaired. It has been one week since surgery and Fennel is already making excellent progress and we expect a full recovery (see photo below). Fennel is also thankful the fishing season is now over!

Celebration of Life for Christine Heinrich
A celebration of Christine’s life will be held on Friday, October 10th at 11:15am at Hereford Crematorium (HR4 0JE), followed by refreshments from approximately 1:00pm at Newton Court, Leominster (HR6 0PF).
In honour of Christine’s love for all things autumn—especially pumpkins—we kindly invite you to consider wearing something orange.
In lieu of flowers, we are collecting donations for two charities close to Christine’s heart: Bowel Cancer UK and Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue, via https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/christine-heinrich-1970?utm_medium=CR&utm_source=CL we have set up in her memory.
This is an open invitation to all who knew and loved Christine. To help us with numbers, we ask that you let us know if you are attending, and how many guests will be accompanying you. Please email [email protected] and indicate the number of attendees in the body of the email.
We also understand that many people around the world would like to pay their respects but may not be able to attend in person. For this reason, the funeral will be live-streamed. A link will be shared closer to the time, so we kindly ask that you email [email protected] from the address you would like to receive the streaming details and we will send it nearer the time.

Iʼm raising money to honour the memory of Christine Heinrich. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

Christine Heinrich

We are devastated to announce that Christine Heinrich passed away Saturday 13th September. Many of you may have known that she had been ill for some time but we are sure that you are as shocked as we were that the end came so quickly.

Christine loved being a vet and an ophthalmologist. She lived and breathed her commitment to the pets that were entrusted to her care. Her talent as a clinician was irreplaceable, but alongside that was her understanding of just how important the human-animal bond is.

Her love of animals continued into her home life. Over her lifetime she had over 20 dogs and 10 cats, some of them patients that needed to be re-homed. She has been the heart of the Eye Veterinary Clinic for the last 10 years and she counted this as one of her greatest achievements. She was so proud of the team that had grown around her and we know that her legacy lives on in those people that she trained and mentored. Her ethos was always to do the very best for each pet and their owners in their own circumstances. This philosophy is also shared by the other directors Karen Walsh and Rachael Grundon and the entire staff.

We know that Christine has touched many lives. We will announce plans for the funeral when they are available. In lieu of flowers we will be collecting donations for a local charity.

We are all devastated by the loss of our dear friend and co-worker but are comforted by the difference she has made in the world.
