“My dog won’t play.” We hear this often. But we have never met a dog that won’t play.
Sometimes it takes time, sometimes you aren’t playing the right game for your dog.
In this case Blue just wasn’t convinced she could have fun, so we had fun without her.
It wasn’t long before FOMO kicked in and Blue started to show interest in the game. A couple of drops quickly snatched off the floor and she thought she was in with a chance to sneak a win.
So we give her a win but make her feel like she intercepted, now we have her bought in!
Play is so important in changing behaviour, we don’t just give up because a dog appears to not want to play. We do whatever it takes!
