🐱 Did you know? Cats can experience whisker fatigue!

Have you ever noticed your cat pulling food out of their bowl to eat on the floor? Or seeming interested in dinner but then walking away?

It could be something called whisker fatigue.

A cat's whiskers are incredibly sensitive. They help them navigate, judge spaces, and understand what's happening around them. When those whiskers repeatedly brush against the sides of a deep or narrow food bowl, it can become overstimulating and uncomfortable for some cats.

Things that may help:
🐾 Use a wide, shallow bowl or plate.
🐾 Keep food and water bowls clean and easy to access.
🐾 Watch your cat's body language, they're great at telling us what they prefer.

Every cat is different, but little changes like these can make mealtimes much more enjoyable.

Understanding our pets' behaviour is just as important as meeting their basic needs and sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. ❤️

We're settled in Boston! 🏡🐾

A little reintroduction for anyone who's new here...

My pet sitting business is now proudly based in Boston, Lincolnshire, and I'm so excited to continue caring for pets in the local area.

My approach has always been about more than feeding pets and letting them out into the garden.

I believe pets deserve to be understood, not just looked after.

That means taking the time to learn their routines, respecting their personalities, recognising their body language, and creating an experience that supports their confidence, wellbeing, and emotional needs while you're away.

Whether your pet is energetic, shy, elderly, anxious, or simply loves sticking to their routine, I aim to provide calm, compassionate care that's tailored to them as an individual.

Because happy pets aren't just fed, they feel safe, understood, and cared for. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who's supported me so far. I'm looking forward to meeting even more wonderful pets (and their people!) around Boston and the surrounding areas.

A little bit about me... 🐾

I spend a lot of time talking about the pets I care for, but I thought it was time to share a little about the person behind the business!

I'm a big believer that slowing down and paying attention to an animal's body language tells us so much about how they're feeling.

One of my favourite parts of this job is getting to know each pet as an individual. Some want to play, some want cuddles, some simply appreciate someone who respects their space, and I love learning what makes each one feel safe and happy.

If you've trusted me with your pets before, thank you for being part of this journey. And if you're new here, welcome! I'd love to get to know you and your furry family. ❤️🐶🐱

Looking after your pets is about so much more than feeding them and popping home again. ❤️

I've spent 8 years working in animal welfare and education, and I'm passionate about giving every pet the care they deserve.

Some of my experience includes:
🐾 Bachelors Degree in Applied Zoology
🎓 Masters in Animal Welfare, Policy & Legislation
💚 8 Years working in animal welfare and pet support
🩹 Certified in Pet First Aid
🐱 Experience caring for companion, working, exotic and farm species
📚 Ongoing professional development to keep my knowledge up to date

It means your pets are cared for by someone who understands animal behaviour, welfare and the importance of maintaining their normal routine while you're away.

⚡ Ever wondered why your cat suddenly sprints around the house? 🐱

Those random bursts of energy (often called the zoomies) are completely normal!

Cats can zoom around because they're:
🎾 Burning off energy.
🧠 Feeling playful.
🐾 Acting on their natural hunting instincts.
😺 Simply having a happy moment!

Every cat has their own personality. Some are calm and cuddly, while others are little whirlwinds with endless energy. Part of being a great pet sitter is recognising what's normal for each individual cat.

That's why I take the time to get to know every pet I care for, so I can make sure they're happy, healthy and enjoying their usual routine while you're away.

Because pets aren't just fed, they're understood. 💛

🐱❤️ The best part of my job? Moments like this.

One thing I love about cat sitting is getting to know each cat's unique personality.

Some cats greet me at the door demanding cuddles, some want to play, and others prefer to keep their distance until they've decided I'm worthy of their trust! 😸

The most important thing is that I always let the cat choose. Building trust at their pace means they feel safe, relaxed and comfortable while you're away.

Because happy cats aren't just fed, they're understood. 💛
