Welcome again to the Yellow Dog UK wonderful world of common sense. Would you go up to a stranger in the street and give her a hug or stick your hand in their face? Well I wouldn't but it happens all to often unfortunately with dogs .... What do you do when you can see someone approaching you and your dog?

Following the report in the news this morning......

Biting Dogs
As a young vet nurse I saw many young healthy dogs lose their life as a result of behaviour issues. Now with the increase in dog bite incidences I'm terrified that we are headed the same way. It's terrifying to me as a Vet Nurse as well as a Behaviourist and Trainer that we are seeing this happening again.
Dogs who have their species and breed needs met, who have training which protects their welfare and owners who manage them appropriately do not bite. The news this morning is liable to cause a rapid and perhaps inappropriate response from the law, good dog owners might find themselves unable to live with their dogs the way they would like.
If you are worried about how your dog is acting at home or in public get help! Don't punish the dog, don't just hope they'll grow out of it. Get help from someone who will teach you how to understand and engage with your dog in ways that will help them navigate our difficult social environment.
