The sunny afternoon saw Worcester Search & Scent Dogs Ltd hold a small and friendly The National Nosework Association Enhanced Trial at Malvern College Enterprises.

Easter holiday fun with some fantastic Mantrailing at the beautiful Malvern College Enterprises and the sun was shining!

Teams Lila, Luna, Olive and Tilly loved the challenges of split trails, decoys, door indications, novel scent articles and long trails…

Accuracy on the door indications were the best I’ve seen from Team Lila and Team Olive ..

Monday night Scent session with Worcester Search & Scent Dogs Ltd and teams Basil, Flossi, Lila. Magni and Rufus started the night with an exterior search looking at searching from the start and to start searching where the dog is tasked…
We them moved on to a problem solving exercise and finished with a blind search of two areas… great work guys…

Mantrailing on Sunday afternoon and teams –Dash, Magni Rogue and Rufus had a great time despite the freezing cold and blustery wind which made the scent swirl around the whole venue…

All Dogs worked hard and we started on casting starts then looked at lots of junctions and corners and we had the added advantage of trailing inside the large hanger garage and the offices…

Brilliant work guys and a special mention to team Erika and Dash who completed a novel article start with a ballpoint pen and Cath and Rufus who completed the most amazing trail, not a paw wrong and a fantastic door indication as well!!

All team teams did really well! Great work guys

It was a wonderful weekend of scent for Worcester Search & Scent Dogs Ltd. Today started with The National Nosework Association Foundation trial at Astons Coaches.

5 teams battled with the strong cold gusty winds swirling around the venue but loved the Interior Search inside the large hanger style garage which always comes with its own suite of distractions for the trial in the form of mechanical / vehicle smells and lots of human odour …but there were some great searches and lots of badges were won.😀🐾🐕

Today was the last week of Worcester Search & Scent Dogs Ltd beginners scent course . Teams Buddy, Joey, Ruby and Toddy put all their new skills together for 3 blind searches (one of which was outside) and did some “pot work” to start to elongate their freeze indications.

It’s been brilliant course and I can’t wait to see you all after Easter…😊🐾🐕

Monday night scent class and teams Bo-Katan, Flossi, Magni and Rufus looked at hide placement and recognising body language when their dogs are in odour and learning when to leave them to work out where the source is…

Week 3 of our beginners scent course and Teams Buddy, Joey, Ruby and Toddy started with an indoor search to see their progression with scent id without a pot and their perimeter search pattern. We followed this with their first exterior search and again despite distractions and some help they all found their scent.
The next part of the session was all about indication and we completed various exercises which was homework for our last session next week.

Teams Lila, Magni, Nellie and Rufus loved the challenges I set them in our monthly scent session in Malvern tonight. We started with a “Go to Source exercise” in preparation for afterwards some indication refreshing and training duration. We completed the night with a blind interior search to include 2 high hides… all teams smashed it!!
