It has been created to give the owners of the pets of Gloucestershire a personal, high quality, comprehensive and caring service to ensure the health and happiness of their canine, feline and small, furry loved ones.

Our opening times over this bank holiday long weekend:

Thursday - 9am -6:30pm
Good Friday - Closed
Saturday - 9am -11:30am
Sunday - Closed
Easter Monday - Closed
Re-open 8:30am Tuesday 7th April.

If you have an emergency, please call our normal number and you will be transfered to Wood Veterinary Group, our out of hours provider.

*Found*
Lovely Tortie cat has been handed in ( not chipped). She was found in the boiler room of St.Peters school. She is thin but has been used to human contact. She may have got trapped and locked in. Please share, this lady has an owner somewhere. PLEASE SHARE.

We would love to officially welcome Martin as a PERMANENT colleague! After 3 years working as our regular locum, he has finally decided we are the team for him. Martin will be here every Tuesday, Thursday and occasional Saturdays. Welcome Martin...

Martin qualified from Cambridge in 1986 and has devoted himself to the care of pet animals ever since, initially in Hampshire, and subsequently in Shropshire, before moving to Gloucestershire in 2019. He has always resisted the temptation to head down the road of specialisation, preferring instead to remain in the role of GP vet. What he loves about his work is the privileged opportunity to build enduring relationships with the owners and carers of pet dogs and cats, who trust him with the wellbeing of their loved ones from infancy to maturity and beyond.
Martin is a lifelong supporter of Stoke City football club, while he and his family share their home with their two cats, Molly and Jonmoa.

Basil has been a regular visitor to the surgery over the past couple of years and is certainly one of our characters. In the waiting room he usually sits like a human child on his mums lap, and last week he gave us a rendition of the theme tune to his favorite TV show. We just had to share!!

It is important to us at Stroud Road that we encourage future generations of vets and nurses.

This week we are proud to announce that all 3 of our regular helpers have succeeded in passing their exams to get them into Vet School. Well done Evie, Hannah and Eva !! We look forward to welcoming you all back for your practical experience weeks over the next few years.

We have also learned that one of our work experience students has won a scholarship to study a Veterinary Nursing Degree in Aberystwyth; well done Kiera.

**Update**
Wallace has had Xrays and Surgery and has been neutered too. Katkinz are full this weekend so he will stay in the surgery and be cared for over the weekend by our lovely staff.

We have been unable to locate the ginger Tom's owners ( the nurses have given him a temporary name of Wallace!).
Katkinz Happy Pawz Rescue Gloucestershire have kindly agreed to contribute towards some of the cost of his xrays and surgery which will be carried out tomorrow. It's a shame we need to rely on these local, financially stretched charities for help when the RSPCA were the ones to refer him to us initially and will not support further treatment.
