Understanding when your Rabbit is considered a senior can help you better meet their changing needs.

🔍 Small breeds (like Netherland Dwarfs) are senior at around 8 years old
🔍 Medium breeds (like Dwarf Lops) become senior at around 6 years old
🔍 Large breeds (like Continental Giants) are considered senior at 4 years old

As your bunny gets older, watch for signs of aging such as sleeping more, fur greying or thinning, or changes in appetite.

Every bunny is unique, so keep an eye out for these signs! 💚

Little Reggie recently came in for cranial closing wedge osteotomy surgery to repair his cruciate ligament. Our vet, Jacob performed a thorough assessment before x-rays confirmed his condition. Since his surgery he is doing well. We hope he continues to recover well and we will see him again in a few weeks for further x-rays to check his healing.

Today is National pet obesity awareness day.

Research suggests that up to 63% of dogs are overweight and up to 50% of cats. Being overweight can cause futher health problems such as arthritis, diabetes, respiratory problems as well as being more prone to heatstroke and shorter lifespan.

Under the guidance of our nurses, Teddy's owner managed to get Teddy to his target weight within 2 months. This means that Teddy is now a much healthier weight preventing any unnecessary strain on his body. Look at the amazing transformation!

We have had some cute kitties in recently for castration. These two are both around 6 months old.

It is important to prevent straying and unwanted pregnancies that males are castrated before they start exploring the outside world. They can usually be neutered from 5 months old.
